If Davis puts on weight then sure. But he's too skinny and weak to be a starting center if he doesn't.
So far this offseason is a miserable failure. We needed to upgrade one or two of the starting positions. Center was a weakness and power forward was a weakness. We went out and got a small forward. That's what doesn't make sense. Guard/small forward was not a weakness. We had aminu and harkless and crabbe all capable of playing small forward. I like turner. I think he's a decent player and I want him on the team.... But he isn't a legit third option and he wasn't one of our main needs. So unless Neil has some major shit up his sleeves, it's looking like an epic failure for what was supposed to be huge offseason for us.
We now have Layman and Turner....sounds like a law firm. Hey, it's a start. We might keep more guys from last season than I thought. Olshey probably knows what Leonard, Crabbe and Harkless are being offered and he's said he's matching for Crabbe...I'd say we might lose Leonard or Mo or both. Could bring back Henderson if the price is right. If Leonard gets lowballed, I think he stays in Portland on an affordable contract
Seriously. Olshey will spin it in his special little way and fans will buy it. But I've lost some trust in him if he doesn't pull something big off.
C'mon Bones...everybody spins all this shit their own little special way..big is what the team looks like as a unit, not an individual. This is getting interesting...enjoy the ride as it unfolds...he's not done. Didn't get the guy folks wanted so why is anyone surprised?
God I hate when supposed professionals are less knowledgable than the people on this board. Travis demers on rip city radio just said we should re-sign hendo instead of crabbe and go get horford. Fucking stupid. Learn the game, then talk.
I suspect that Olshey will find some value moves to make the team better, but it doesn't look like he's going to be able to pull off any of the major deals that we'd hoped would move us into instant contention. Looks like it's going to be a gradual process rather than a rocket ride to the top.
Let's see, an average NBA player that's 27 with no potential, or two average NBA players that are 23/24 with some potential. I know who'd I rather have.
Eh. It is what It is.... as they say. I'd like Olshey to come up with a shot blocker but I'm not pushing it. The one things that bugs me is that nobody wants to come here. We are under the impression that our players love it here..... and in the past they have. I believe Dame does but our other players snowing us and feeding us lines? If I was getting paid that much I'd play in Antarctica. Are we a delusional fan base?
"trust" in him? appears he tried his best to get a Parsons and Howard combo and perhaps Whiteside as well, POR as we are seeing and have seen for years is just not a destination for "name" FA's - it is what it is
