The issue with these moves is that they don't address CJ and Dame getting trapped every game. Teams will still do the same shit and we have no third option. Still no rim protection unless you get Mahimi then you have a little bit but fuck this summer is depressing. I looked forward to it the whole year. Then I am also concerned because I want Hark and Crabbe back. Looks like Crabbe is staying but not sure about Hark. We need to keep Hark. Let Meyers go.

I don't think you've seen turner play. He's essentially a third PG. He brought the ball up the court and called plays for Boston a lot last season.

Actually I'd argue Turner is a better PG than CJ. Better vision/passing

Or continue to think of salaries as if it's still 2014....I used to work with a very old guy who was stuck in the 1950s when he talked about money..I saw this coming when it comes to the dollar figures...people can't see the change in the cap by lookin' at the past.

Pity party time? Is it what we "dreamed" of? Nope, but it's "okay" and we are not done yet. Last yr was one of the most enjoyable I have had watching the Blazers over the last decade, loved the way they played. I am a fan and realistic, I think this will be a team that's fun to watch and easy to pull hard for. That's enough for me, I'd love a championship but I'll be satisfied with a bunch of guys who play hard that I can root for.

you can only make an offer to a needle moving player...after that, it's out of your hands....Cuban isn't having much luck...Phil Jackson didn't have much luck last season...shit happens. Olshey made offers to the right guys...they made different choices. How that makes Olshey bad, I don't get

It's a process. You don't just go from a 44 win team to a title contender unless you get a transcendental player. For everybody else, we need to just keep taking these upward steps. It's not like there's a glass ceiling when you have Dame and CJ on the roster.

I enjoy following the team I like watching the games, I don't hang my overall happiness on it. I think the inflation factor is causing over reaction to be inflated as well, but I remember last year when people complained that Aminu was the 2nd highest paid player on the team... At least until the season started.

BTW Durabt is the only player this offseason that could have possibly put us in contender mode, and it's pretty obvious we weren't on his list. Everyone else on the chart had major red flags or holes in their games. When I look at the moves that are made I 1stvtry to see what Neil was shooting for, then wether he had much control of it then try to see how the player fits, I honestly don't care about the Dollar signs much. Remember the cap is going up again next year and based on next years salary this contract will be not so terrible.

We really needed somebody with length that can handle the ball and defend the Klay Thompsons that CJ and Dame can't....it makes sense.

Here's a comparison of Turner and Henderson from last year:
    http://www.basketball-reference.com...endege02&y2=2016&p2=turneev01&p3=&p4=&p5=&p6=

    HendersonTurner.jpg

There may be a lot of similarities, but Turner blows Henderson away in the assists category. 1.9 assists per 36 for Henderson, and 5.7 assists per 36 for Turner. When teams pressure Dame or CJ, Turner can be that extra ball handler to facilitate the offense.

I was hoping to spend some of that CAP money on getting a 3rd scorer. Turner certainly isn't that. But what he is is a player that fills a lot of gaps, and will make the players around him better.

Olshey has more work to do, but as for Turner, I believe he makes the team better. Needle mover better? No. But better none the less.

If all we get out of this offseason is Evan Turner, I think Golden Boy Neil will be on the hot seat. Because he'd have followed up a terrible trade with a terrible offseason.

He's already dodged a couple bullets in Hibbert and Monroe.

Olshey shouldn't be on the hot season. He plays in a market that's looked at as the wasteland of the NBA. If anything I feel bad for him. Neil deserves a better market.
