Why wouldnt we have monroes early bird rights? It would be two years in one contract if we traded for him.

It looks like Bogut is expiring next year too, so outside of Vucevic most trade targets don't have long deals. Monroe was down to us after we lost all of our guys and what was seen as an up and coming Milwaukee team last year, so at least he might not be totally against the idea of staying

So you're telling me he's not coming to Portland? What will I do with my Trail Blazers Gasol jersey?

Pau Gasol is like the 00's Scottie Pippen. He came here when he was 34 and we paid him 14 million, 14 million, 18 million, then 19 million in 2003. I'm looking forward to next year, and hoping for big improvements in our defense. We had a top ten offense and defense a couple years ago, was that roster any better than this one?

with the lack of a big man signing, I hope Vonleh makes a huge improvement this season.

We'd have bird rights on those guys. Monroe we wouldn't because he only signed a 2 year deal

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure Porltand was only an agent trick to get some leverage. Gasol never wanted to be a Blazer. I hope to be proven wrong but I am sure I won't.

That's an odd kind of hope. The hopeless hope.

The good thing about us going for divisive figures in free agency is that when we fail to get them there's a substantial section of the fan base who can feel relieved. It's an odd source of happiness, but it's probably the best we Blazers fans can hope for.

More of the free agent dominoes will fall after the Durant signing. Next up: Pau Gasol.

Gasol go to Toronto not cause i do not want him atleast MAYBE he can lead the Raptors over the Cav's and then get destroyed by the Warriors in the Finals -- LOL -- He would at least have a shot at the Finals in Toronto . If he goes West he has NO CHANCE in HELL of getting to the Finals and that is almost a fact barring a injury bug for the warriors.

There is now a less than 0% chance Gasol comes here, which is a good thing.

OK -- I would never ever say do this 99% of the time but maybe Olshey should send out feelers to Barnes camp and see if they would want to sign Offer sheet with PDX instead . I like Turner and while i think Barnes is overrated to a degree he still has more potential then Turner. It's very possible Olshey never reached out to Barnes cause he NEVER EVER thought in a million years Durant would choose the Warriors over the Thunder so do not want to waste time. It would suck for Turner and the Blazres might take some heat if they did this but who cares.

Would you rather have a nice player in Turner and i will admit it ( prolly 10m ) more then he should have gotten OR Barnes who could blow up in the right situation but could also be exposed too ???

and ask Gasol to wait or take offer off table if this were to happen.

Actually maybe there's a better chance now. Gasol knows he can't win so might as well take a huge payday.
