My hope right now is that Zaza spurns the Blazers and takes less money to go elsewhere. At this point it's not completely unrealistic.
Ah, I see. I agree to an extent. However, maybe he thinks that's all we need to push us to where we need to be. Obviously we're not going to succeed by the orthodox method, maybe he thinks what we have in house and one big is our best chance.
More and more players should spurn the Blazers until it's just Lillard playing 1 on 5. It can be the NBA version of 300.
Greg Monroe. Hear he might be available. I agree. Think towards a trade to make your improvements...now.
Huh? This team with Zaza is no more or less likely to overcome the dubs. It's a non-move that only makes it more likely that our future draft pick is slightly worse.
Check out @WojVerticalNBA's Tweet: Please Charlotte take Zaza so Neil doesn't shoot himself in the foot.
I get tgat Zaza makes us marginally better, but he's not helping us win a title in 2-3 years, when we gave a shot to do it
he is actually a physically tough guy who has played very well the past couple yrs, when Plums and Davis are gettin pushed around he's a good guy to have. Give him a couple yr contract and I'm fine with it, Ezeli physical risks just too high
That's where I was kinda going with my response above. Three guys we went after in FA in the last few years. Hibbert, Hawes and Monroe are all apparently available. I'll take Monroe.
Zaza Pachulia, Per-36: Pts: 11.7 Reb: 12.9 Blk: 0.4 FG%: 0.466 PER: 16.2 Although it's certainly not what we were hoping for, Zaza isn't a total dud. I'd rather go this route than lose our RFAs. We're in a use it or lose it situation here. Once we sign our RFAs, we'll be over the CAP. I'd like to wait for a 'lopsided trade', but with the interest in our RFAs, we'll need to have our 'CAP filler' (Zaza?) signing ready to go. We've got a darn good team that is young and full of potential. So far, Olshey has struck out on getting a significant contributor. Now lets at least make sure we stay on par and sign our RFAs.
If he's sabotaging his firing, that means he doesn't want to get fired. But I understand what you meant. My take is that Olshey is finally waking up to the fact that he just can't compete with the other GMs around the league.
