Maybe it's Cousisn, maybe it's someone else. I'm not sure who might be available at this point. Blake Griffin? Gordon Hayward? I'd still like to make a gun at Jabari Parker.

Pretty sure Bucks have made it clear that Parker is untouchable (@ least for now...).

Crabbe just wouldnt be one of them with that trade kicker theyve given him.

Dude wants to start. Dont think he will be happy chilling on the bench behind an all nba caliber player in cj. Crabbe is like 24, when youre that age having your stage to shine and prove everyone youre good is of the utmost importance.

His rebounding wasn't MUCH better than Crabbe. That's an exaggeration. And of course his assists are lower because Dame and CJ and Plumlee are handling the ball 99% of the time.

Crabbe is a MUCH better shooter than Oladipo. His offensive rating is significantly higher, while his defensive rating is really only marginally better.

Here are Neil's second round picks that he decided to sign since coming over to POR:

    2012: Will Barton (40)
    2013: Allen Crabbe (31)
    2015: Patty C (41)
    2016: Layman (47)

Maybe as @B-Roy said, we can keep a revolving door of wing players drafted in the second round. Patty could blow up to be a 10 ppg scorer next year, and Layman the next year, etc etc

Lol at 10 ppg = blowing up.

But seriously, I think Crabbe is worth his contract in the right situation. That situation isn't here though.

Very optimistic....you can only hit on so many 2nd rnd picks, no matter how good you think you are at evaluating talent

You know what I mean. Going from nothing to consistent PT and production is blowing up in a sense. All we need from that backup wing spot is 10 ppg and OK defense, with some sort of efficiency.

Maybe Crabbe as a starter is that guy who totally blows up. Who knows. I think with starter minutes he could be about equal with Bradley Beal. Maybe.

Yeah I am agreeing with you. That's what I mean, Crabbe in the right situation could be a prime Wes Matthews and he would be easily worth that contract. With CJ here though he's just a severely overpaid 3 and D player. Maybe it's because of my irrational love of Crabbe, but I'm warming up to the idea of trading CJ as Natebishop has been advocating, but that requires the right deal to be available. Plus I don't believe Neil has the guts or will to split up the Dame/CJ combo. Still, I think there is a slim chance we match Crabbe and there is a surprise trade midseason to ship CJ out. Very slim though.

Yes...when Dame was out, so when Dame/CJ are playing, he is a bench player. Also, Olidipo is one of the ELITE guard defenders in our league. (Hubie Brown voice) Crabbe is now where near to that level. I like Crabbe but just not at near max money for a guy that will be a bench player here.

Another note, I would rather have Crabbe at this contract than Turner at his. But what's done is done.

Felt for the longest time we were only going to retain one of Crabbe and Harkless. Fairly confident the FO valued Crabbe more, but the Nets endes making the decision for Neil. Too bad.

Turner is literally better than Crabbe at everything but 3pt shooting

I disagree. I think a 3rd ball handler was needed more than a 3rd 3 pt shooter. A 3 and D guy is slightly easier to find than a wing with handles.

I believe the Blazers have made their choice for high paid guards in Lillard and CJ (BIG payday next summer), you simply can't pay Crabbe 18 mil per with those guys getting paid big unless you are a true championship contender and a guy like Crabbe is a crucial part - which he is NOT, so an easy choice to say adios

3 point shooting is the most important skill for wing role players. Plus Crabbe is younger.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but Im confident time will prove Crabbe the better player.

Iguodala was the finals MVP and he's not a good 3pt shooter.
