Always a bad thing. We shouldn't even really care about convictions in cases like these. Information is what is needed. even if it takes years.

I don't buy that paranoid crap. He killed himself, then they sent a bomb to make it look like they took him out and gave control...doubtful the shooter is a government hired assassin.

Of course he was killed or killed himself, he just murdered 5 police officers, he wasn't going to let himself be taken in, nor were the cops going to ask questions.

No fucking way. Why? The republicans trying to make the Democrats look bad? Governments inciting fear to keep control? Ok maybe I can see that happening, but to kill cops...damn

It creates chaos 4 months prior to an election. It will mobilize black voters as more violence comes through and anti-gun legislation. Every election is decided on one key issue that is "hot" during that time.

I don't think this is the end of it either.

Obama needs to use his Bully Pulpit ASAP and he isn't going to do it. But I am afraid he already has.

I looked back at Obama's responses and I see him calling for accoutability, which I agree with after seeing the videos, neither of these shootings appear to be justifiable. Obama called for everyone to come together, not to become vigilantes and go on killing sprees...

That's not for Obama to decide if they are justified or not. There's a process, and once these things go through the process the cops are usually exonerated.

But, the cops are not always rightfully exonerated...our system is horribly corrupt...and often justice is not served...I'm not saying that makes Dallas right...this country is going to hell in a hand basket, and nothing is going to change

And in many of the cases, the cops were justified in using lethal force to stop a potential threat.

Young black men are probably one of the most violent, most incarcerated and least educated demographic in the US. It is not by chance or by a "corrupt system" that they end up getting shot by cops. Its a history of violence and anti-authority attitudes in their culture.

    Here allow me

    http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2015/jun/01

Just click the filter white people killed by cops in 2016: 279/569

black people killed by cops in 2016: 137/569

Do my eyes decieve me or are white people being killed at twice the rate as black people?

Ok now lets add unarmed to the filter since clearly unarmed black people are being killed at an alarming rate according to the eye test:

Unarmed black people killed by police in 2016: 24/569
Unarmed white people killed by police in 2016: 42/569

Hmmmm how are my eyes being tricked by the eye test?

    THE MEDIA? No absolutely not.

Dude. 64% of america is white. Of course white people will be killed by cops as a whole more often. Thats why stats are stupid. You can usually fit them into your argument however you want

According to wikipedia there were approximately 800 thousand sworn officers in the usa in 2008, so im sure the number is higher in 2016. And 24 unarmed black people have been killed.

No, im not justifying unarmed death. I think it sucks and cops should be held accountable. But this is hardly an epidemic.

What about unarmed babies being aborted?
    http://www.blackgenocide.org/black.html
Since 1973 15.5 million black babies have been aborted. You want to talk genocide?

Good so we agree it is not racist cops but a sad statistic that a certain very low percentage of unarmed stops result in death

Why are you changing the subject and talking about abortions? Yes, i dont agree with abortions either, but thats a seperate tragedy.

The truth is black people are profiled and killed at a higher rate than whites. Thats a tragedy in and of itself that deserves undivided attention. If you want to talk about abortions being terrible create another thread.

Here is a thought. Get a group of people from different backgrounds, listen to the experiences they have had, shut up, listen and gain some perspective.

Thats what i did today, and it gave me perspective i had never considered.
