They also drafted that Beasley kid from FSU, they need a trade desperately.

OK that changes things. So long term they have a nice back court of Mudiay, Murray, Harris, and Beasley.
Plus Will Barton. Maybe they trade with Philly for a PF using one of their young guards.

In hind site they should wait it out until next summer and try to get a top FA with all this young talent.

Philly don't really have a power forward they could trade. They got two centers (Noel and Okafor) who they might be willing to deal and who could probably play PF in some capacity but they are not power forwards.

I think both could be PF next to the right C. (and are listed as both)
Noel is only 215 lbs...is he really a center?
Okafor can't guard spread 4's, (few big PF's can) but on offense he has the range to range play PF effectively.

Well, he's most likely not on the west coast...

He's from NYC so maybe he's at home?

Couldn't he just be watching that at home?

So they would play 1 maybe 2 players out of position and trade another to sign a non-shooting SF when they're biggest weakness is shooting? Not seeing it.

BKN just signed Joe Harris, Greivis Vasquez, Luis Scola and now Anthony Bennett and Randy Foye for cheap deals.

Looks like they won't go after Harkless.

    God, that's a miserable roster.

How does Anthony Bennett keep getting opportunities?

BK is a glorified DLeague team as is, and it's a minimum deal for 1 yr.

    Worth a shot I suppose

So we should assume he's not coming back at this point.

No I would not assume that, may come back for the QO (4 mil area) and become a UFA next summer

That's probably the most likely scenario at this point, but he's in kind of a tough position. His hope would be to get enough PT next year so he can build on last year's improvement and earn a big contract next summer. But will he get enough PT for that to happen given the other guys wanting minutes at SF? He's probably hoping some team will come through with a big offer this summer or that a S & T is out there that Olshey will jump at.

Can we please just hurry up and sign Harkless?

He was my #1 RFA target this summer (mostly due to thinking/knowing Crabbe will/would get overpaid). Be pretty disappointing if he is the only one that doesn't come back.

I think he comes back for QO at the very least though (which is still kind of sad - basically guaranteed to lose him next year).

If the Nets sign Dion Waiters then I think you see something happen with Harkless in a matter of days.

I don't know if anyone caught it, but in my thread listing roster changes it says that the Lakers are interested in signing Harkless. Given that they signed Deng at the SF spot, I'm not sure how much credence that has. Of course, given that he's an RFA, the Blazers can always match if they want.

We really need someone to sign him this summer. Then we match and we will have him for a few more years.

We don't want the QO to occur.

QO seems like a big risk for him, in that playing time could be cut, as has been discussed already here. Also not ideal for us, as we then can not trade him this season without his consent.

Yes, but as long as that someone doesn't throw a Crabbe-like offer at him.
