Or POR Gets: DMC, Matt Barnes, Darren Collison SAC Gets: Meyers Leonard, Moe Harkless, Mason Plumlee, Noah Vonleh, '17 POR 1st, '18 CLE 1st, '19 POR 1st, Right to Swap '20 POR 1st Lillard (33) / Collison (15) McCollum (35) / Crabbe (10) / Lillard (3) Turner (30) / Crabbe (18) / Barnes Aminu (26) / Davis (18) / Cousins (4) Cousins (31) / Ezeli (17)
The thing is I want to keep most of our players. I think they will improve to be key. The key is WHICH ones. Im still high on Vonleh and Davis.
There are plenty of unrealistic targets, LeBron chief among them. For Portland to have a shot at a star-level player, he would have to: 1. Be on a team that is not a contender 2. Be about to be a FA next year, so the team risks losing him for nothing and may panic 3. Have a GM who's a bit simple, because realistically we can't offer as much as teams like Boston OR 3= Be a player undervalued by other teams. Possible targets: Millsap, if he doesn't get on with Dwight Howard. Kevin Love, if LeBron tires of him. Blake Griffin ? My Dark Horse candidate: Danilo Gallinari. He's an injury risk, but at his best he's a rich man's Chandler Parsons, and he fits the mold of tall + good passer + good shooter that's all the rage these days. Another possibility: Nikola Mirotic. Just wish both he and Gallinari were better defenders.
Gallinari is not better than Parsons. I like Mitotic but that's just more role players do what's the point? I think Cousins might force his way out this year or SAC will realize that he'll leave in FA in a couple years and that they won't make noise if they keep him. In that scenario, trading him sooner would be best for getting back value.
Didn't you use to be a Bulls fan? It would make sense that you would still have some bias still lying around.
I personally would target Kevin Love. 1) He's from Portland and I think he would stay here. 2) He's perfect for Stotts' system. 3) He was, at one time, considered the best PF in the game. I think he could return to that status if given the chance. 4) I think he could be had without giving up CJ.
Just being realistic. You have the Bulls giving up like 2 rotation players and a prized rookie for a guy who they do not need or want. They would be better off making that offer to Sacto for DMC.
He's only 6'8. He can't shoot for shit (25.7% from three last season) and I'm concerned he can't be a PF long term. http://www.sportsrageous.com/nba/nb...estbrook-jabari-parker-khris-middleton/37462/ What an AWFUL idea for Milwaukee. I don't give them a chance in hell of re-signing him if they go through with that.
Barring something unexpected happening that makes an established All-Star available at a reasonable price, the most I can see is some sort of consolidation trade at the PF spot involving some combination of Aminu, Davis and filler. Otherwise, we're under the luxury tax threshold for this year so just play the guys we have and see who develops next year, then make a big trade next summer if warranted.
I don't think he is a terrible shooter (form wise), I think he'd raise his % here easily. I mean, everyone outside of Middleton doesn't hit threes in Milwaukee lol There's no way OKC agrees to that either.
