per cbs http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ranking-all-30-nba-benches-a-non-playoff-team-secures-top-spot/ I kind of look at it as... we didn't get a lot more powerful, per se, but we got a LOT deeper. This should make us a lot more consistent.
Did you see their rankings for the Jazz? Starters No. 5 and Bench No. 1. I know they're going to be good, but that ranking would put them either second or third in the West. Starters: George Hill, Rodney Hood, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert Bench: Dante Exum, Alec Burks, Joe Johnson, Trey Lyles, Boris Diaw What do you think, are they worth the pre-season hype?
I am not sure why they even listed Napier. I doubt he plays. Regardless of what people think of Myers, he should be in our top 5 off the bench. Even Vonleh will get more minutes.
This seems like a random ordering of teams. Golden State 2nd? Boston 3rd? New York 9th? Doesn't she sense. It's also funny how the first person they mentioned for our bench was someone who won't play and they forgot Meyers Leonard. I honestly think we have the best bench in the NBA.
In all honesty, their bench's offense is going to be harder to guard than their starters. The starters have no actually good on ball players who can score at will.
I don't think you can judge benches before training camp...in our case, we don't know who the bench is yet nor do many other teams.
This ranking was such horse shit Jazz are gunna be a 500 team I cant see them getting much better THEY CANT FUCKING SCORE youre nuts if you think Joe Johnson makes them better buncha iso bricks and games in the 70's.... have fun Utah fans! This year: 42-42 Last year 40-42 Yr before: 38-44
So Leonard is neither listed as a starter nor as a bench player. Nice. Didn't realize he was our 11th man. Fat Diaw is not gonna do shit-- he's been irrelevant the past two seasons. More unwarranted Utah love.
Wow, the writers of this column are obviously Jazz Fans. 5and 1 really? Plus they put GS's bench near the top? A bunch of horse shit...looking at the list, which again leaves out players on several teams that should appear, including Meyers Leonard on ours, I call BS....Portland easily has one of, if not the best benches in the NBA.
This is nonsense. We might actually have the deepest team in the league, there will be 11 players ready to contribute and none of them are crap. Utah did not even make the playoffs the past two seasons. Am I to believe that adding George Hill changes everything?
I get that George Hill is better than Raul Neto (I mean, seriously, who isn't?). But this guy averaged 3.5 APG playing with Paul George and Monta Ellis - two guys that could average 20+ PPG with me as their starting PG. In fact, both Paul George and Monta Ellis averaged more APG that Hill last year. So, what great scorers is he going to be passing to in UTA? Hill is now in his 30s and has had one significantly above average season in his 8-year career, and that was the year he missed 39 games. Sure, there is more to the overall picture than just adding Hill. They also improved their bench. They should make the playoffs this year, but that will be due, at least as much, to other teams getting worse as it is to them getting phenomenally better. And this idea that they have the 5th best starters and best bench in the entire league is absolute rubbish. If they really do (they don't), they should give GSW a run for the top seed in the West. Yeah, that'll happen... BNM
