A few hits this month justifies this crap being an everyday fixture in the lineup now?

Yanx would be so much better off going forward if they had kept Prado and Phelps. Phelps is doing well in Miami and if they had also kept Prado the Yanx would have gotten 2 years of production at 3rd base that is much better than Headley's, plus Prado would be in the last year of his contract and would also have prevented the inane signing of Headley.

Judge can't get here fast enough. His growing pains can be no worse than the absolute crap they insist on throwing out there. This organization really thinks Hicks is the Yankee version of Bradley Jr. That means we might never be rid of this experiment.

Yep, Yanks would've already won their 28th WS.
Prado and Phelps have almost nothing to do with this team already looking to trade couple of veterans and going forward with some of their young players in 2017......which they intended to do after Beltran and Tex were gone....in 2016.

Actually, the Yanks DID receive the youngest player and good prospect in that trade- SP Domingo German (now 24 yrs old) who is alive and well and back on the mound after arm surgery with a 1.98 ERA at Tampa.
    Thank you.

I don't think Hicks is an "experiment".
Yanks are/were hoping he can build on what he showed last year and become a solid 4th outfielder .....
....of course they would sure welcome him becoming a "good" hitter ....they wouldn't mind if he made the allstar team.
He had 352 ABs last year- he'll have 234 (?) after tonight's game which is just his third highest season total.

    Has he been sucking?
    Positively and absolutely!

But I don't have too much of a problem with the Yanks giving him ABs during this transition period....he'll be on the bench when Judge gets here.
It's not the end of the world trying to find out as much as they can about him at this point......it's true he has shown very little in over 1000 career ABs but to be fair, young hitters/players need to play often to improve their game....kinda hard when you get only 240-280 abs playing sporadically unless you're a proven veteran but....
....no doubt about it...his current BA is the lowest at the end of any of his previous seasons.
He should've shown more than he has...jeez, he's actually gone backwards.
Hicks will fade into the background when Judge gets here....unless John Ryan Murphy becomes a good everyday catcher.
Yanks already have a very decent "young" inexpensive backup catcher.

The remainder of this season will be an MLB "experiment to see who goes or stays next season. I heard Joe say that Hicks was akin to Bradley whom Boston did not give up on. Bradley got sent down until he could play in the bigs. Same thing needs to happen with Hicks if not producing send him down. Ref is on board, call up Judge and put him to work.

I'm thinking that Judge might take ARod's roster spot.

Prado is no doubt one player, who never should of been considered to leave, or trade. Prado is having a fine season, esp when compared to Headcase....

I think tyler austin might beat judge up here but I want to see both of them up here now. Hicks is to bradley like kevin maas is to mattingly. He friggin blows. Get gardner out of here. Must be some contender needs him and open up another outfield spot.

Austin hitting .372 with power in his last 28 games

    Gardner and Ellsbury batting 1-2
    The Dynamic Duo

Just throw a LH pitcher out there and they basically become harmless.
    Gardner 1 HR/ .676 OPS
    Ellsbury 2 HR/ .633 OPS

I'd like to give Girardi a kick in his ass.

I don't know what they can do with them but I can do without Gardner and Ellsbury. They simply add nothing to the top of the lineup.

One thing Girardi CAN do is break them up and don't have them back to back.
My gosh, can't he see this?

Why not Didi batting second - at least a few times?
Jeez, the situation is crying out for it and it's more glaring with a LHSP now that Didi has been consistently good vs LHP.
In any case, just stop having them back-to-back at the top of the lineup

honestly b/t Gardner and Ellsbury I expected alot more than 30 SB's b/t them so far this season. Add but 5 from Gregorious, who IMO should have a helluva lot more; (tied with his output of last yr). Then there's Hicks, who can't get a hit or walk to get on base enough to ponder stealing a base, with his yearly-big goose egg 0....

I really did expect to see some small ball, to some extent, even a timid bit or effort at least; and hoped we'd see 90-110 SB's, or more' out of a combo of all 4.... this team flat out needs a total dismantling of those still on its roster....!!!

Keep the youngsters- throw the Fat Man out of the bathtub with the water........."I hear ya' moan"...
