Oh fuck yeah. They have a little plaque with a picture of it. The cashiers aren't supposed to say anything, at least according to one I asked.

It has gotten better here, we've only had Winco for a few years. I missed it so.

That bring up a pet peeve of mine. They have a daily rant on Fox 5 news. Sometimes they read positive messages. One lady wrote in to thank a stranger for paying 20 dollars of her bill while grocery shopping.

She said "thanks to the lady ahead of me at Albertsons, money is tight right now and it really helped out"

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SHOPPING AT ALBERTSONS IF YOU'RE BROKE???????????

I remember I wrote that I didn't rat a black kid that worked at Winco when he left the bathroom stall without washing his hands.

Dviss told me if I would rat out a white kid I was being unfair. The next weekend an old guy left his cart in the way there and I bumped it with mine. I felt terrible and realized I couldn't treat everyone the same, not because they didn't deserve it but because I'd feel bad

I know dude. Albertsons, safeway, freddies are all more expensive. I go to grocery outlet for random stuff, and do most of my shopping at winco. Not because i have to, because i like saving money for other stuff.

I don't HAVE to go either but paying 50-100 bucks more for the same thing just because they bag my groceries isn't worth it. 2-400 dollars a month will buy you a car.

When they opened Sprouts here they had a grand opening sale. The glass bottles of Perrier you can buy at Winco for 1.28 were marked as 2.99 regular price and "on sale" for 2.50

I don't know why Americans are so stupid but as a whole.....

At grocery outlet in the parking lot, you see poor people, but you also see people driving luxury cars. The middle class seem to have missed the memo.

At Winco you see poor people driving decent cars. I used to live in a more remote higher end neighborhood that the only close grocery store was an Albertsons. We treated it like a convenience store.

Any big town in America is going to be ruder than rural areas simply due to immigration from a variety of cultures, many of which aren't all that polite, civilized, educated, or even well-intentioned. Others are introverted or guarded being in a new culture, or uneasy with freedom now that they have it but don't really understand it. It will only get worse, we will never co-exist in close quarters as tribalism is an instinct necessary for survival of the species. The whole immigration schtick is all about creating a bland, unemotional slave race to serve the Buffetts, Kochs, Bloombergs and Gates' of the world. It serves no legitimate humanitarian goal and those who encourage it are no better than pimps.

Oops, slid into a mini-rant there.

The rudest Americans are New Yorkers. We have encountered extremely rude New Yorkers in Oregon, Hawaii, California, Montana, Nevada and Florida.

The rudest "culture?" I've encountered are the Chinese masses who've over-run Vancouver, BC the last few decades. They will knock down old ladies to cut in line shopping or for a seat on the bus. No exaggerration.

End thought: Amount of Personal space = Chance of Politeness Encounter

I have read that China lacks the custom of standing in line. So they have chaotic free-for-alls. American 1st-graders are taught the custom, but it's not in China yet.

You kind of have a point there. I've experienced both things in B.C and with NYers. No joke. Also if you ever go to Europe, personal space there is completely different. They LOVE to be close to you. lol.

I heard the first week Shanghai Disney opened it was a freaking madhouse. Nobody knew what standing in line was, so people people were pushing others around and what not.

Here's an article about how they trashed the park when it first opened.

Grocery stores bring out the worst in rude people. I’m 100% with you on your comment, but would take it a couple of steps further.

Before the rude person blocked the way to the Winco bagging area, they are often the same people that do not start bagging until they pay for their groceries. They just stand there looking at the cashier the whole time, rather than starting to bag. This of course backs up the entire bagging process, which slows down and often stops the checkers work.

Before that, they are often the same people that while shopping, take their half of the aisle out of the middle. They will park their cart in a way that blocks everyone, while they mindlessly stare at the shelves.

Rude people that get off on holding other people back by using passive aggressive techniques.

I used to wonder how it got into our genes to all be right-handed stand-in-liners who chew politely. Then my kid went through 1st grade. The teacher didn't like him because he wouldn't sit on the cold floor when the rest of the class would, and kept sending him to the Principal. She kept after me to do something about it at home (demand that he change), writing me disciplinary notes. I asked her, why is this an important skill to learn. She had no answer.

My kid was ambidextrous and I had dreams of his becoming the next Paul Westphal. But the teacher asked him what he was and, getting no preference, made him a right-hander.

Anyway, after that school year, I now knew why Americans are right-handed polite chewers who automatically stand in lines.

Im a firm believer in you never know what someone is going through so dont think that you are more important than them. Someone tailgating me? I dont get all brake checky and stressed. I say fuck it and let them by. Maybe their wife or kid or husband ect is going into a diabetic coma and they are rushing to the hospital. Maybe they are just a prick. It's not for me to decide at that point in time, so i let them by. Same shit at the store, you want to go ahead of me? No biggie. If you arent 8n a hurry maybe youll say no but thank you. Maybe you are an inconsiderate prick and go even when you arent in a hurry. I dont really care.

I live a very stressfree life and i do so by not giving a shit about anything and not taking myself too seriously. I figure go about life trying not to bother other people and God can sort out the rest.

I just use the internet to vent and be a cock bag. Works perfect for my mental health

i held the door for a 30 year ish oldlady the other day, and as she came in another person came in right behind her, she gave the door a little shove for the guy as i let it go and he told her thank you, and she said youre welcome. but she didnt thank me for holding the fucking door open for her in the first place.

i thought it was funny in an annoying kind of way.
