He was a total class act.

At least even in bankruptcy he has his acting charisma to fall back on. I'm still hoping we see a Perfect Score II one of these decades.

Reading that article...Maurice Cheeks sure was a victim. What a coincidence that all those big bad players cussed at such a natural leader, while players didn't later at McMillan. The one thing the problem players had in common, that great strong leader Cheeks, surely had nothing to do with it.

The Oregonian defended Cheeks all the way while a few of us called for his replacement. As they always do, the defenders of the status quo posted, "Give me a list of who could replace him. All right, then."

You can question Cheeks' coaching but he was a legitimately classy, good guy who has accomplished a hell of a lot more in his life than Darius Miles ever will. Miles was a brain-dead waste of talent. It's not a part of some underground racist conspiracy to point out what should have been exceedingly obvious.

If he had perfect acting charisma I'm sure he'd be in a whole lot more movies.

Him and Von Wafer were the only players that I've been around in my 12 seasons traveling with the team that were really jerks. Sounds like Nate got a different vibe. He was an ass.

I enjoyed watching him during his short time here. He was good at taking it to the hoop.

Trump never declared personal bankruptcy. But you know that.

Paul Allen had D Miles right where he wanted him; a restricted free agent who could go out, secure a contract from 29 other teams to set his value. Tick tock, tick tock, shockingly there were no other bidders. So, PA signed Miles to a (at the moment) too high priced contract that allowed Miles to think he was really a good player. Ha!

Karma is right! But I do feel sorry for the kid. He doesn't have the smarts to have survived with all that money.

PS Crandc.....big difference between personal bankruptcy (which he has never filed) and business bankruptcy.

What's the difference? He was the decision-maker who decided to stiff a lot of creditors. Many individual and business creditors, large and small, lost money to create his businesses' unearned gains from escaping debts. The large company creditors had to charge their customers more to make up the losses.

Can you explain the difference, from the viewpoint of someone losing the money that he (oops, his business) owes you, and you won't ever be paid? (You also lose your attorney fees, trying to defend your account receivable.)

Exactly. People didn't just lose money; he put numerous businesses, and families, out of business with his actions. He has shown this technique of fucking people over is a sound business strategy for amassing personal wealth; not so much for running a country. When he bankrupts the country in the same manner as his businesses, who the fuck is going to forgive our debt and bail us out? Might want to start learning Chinese. And Russian.
