I've got updates coming to the PC in real time, feel for those on the East Coast of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Hope that storm will alter course and go out into the ocean.

I'm praying for the folks in the path of this storm. It looks like it's going to be a bad one. After seeing what Hurricane Sandy did here a few years ago I only hope it isn't as bad.

As of a few minutes past midnight old buddy Matthew has wobbled a tick to the East still people are urged not to be complacent. Saw video of the Palm Beaches, Vero Beach, and St Lucie getting pounded by Tropical Storm force winds, much rain, and expected high tide storm surge. Just hope that thing will just keep drifting eastward.

Looks like the eye scraped Cape Canaveral moving north, though less damage than predicted the East Coast got ripped up pretty bad. We were lucky over here, a bit of rain and a few gusts but exercising caution until that cain gets further North. For you folks in Georgia and the Carolinas, stay safe. This morning there are more than a few Floridians who failed to evacuate wishing they had.

...I will never understand the thinking of some people...why would anyone willfully put themselves in harm's way when there's absolutely no reason for it?

So 59, is Georgia getting some action by now, saw video on St Augustine getting pounded with flooding starting on the St Johns River and Jacksonville area? We were lucky here in Tampa Bay smidgen of rain, some gusts but hell a normal summer thunder boomer can do that.

...as much as we really needed the rain, not a drop so far...just a little wind. (20 mph)

...talked to Mom and my Brother (Winter Springs and Sanford) and they never lost power...many more relatives in Jax and as of now everyone is OK.

I lived in Orlando for many a year, had some close calls, did catch the "Storm of the Century in '93 that one did some damage. From video I saw of Orlando looked like they had some brisk rain and wind but they just lifted the curfew so everything must be OK.

Completing a 600 mile plus trip along the Eastern Seaboard Matthew makes landfall. Hope all those affected get speedy assistance and recovery.

I was expecting to see the storm park over Middle Ga., like the season of 95, was it? When Middle, Ga. had a Hurricane break up over that area, and instead of moving out, it hung around for days flooding, as well as breaking a few smaller dams....good to see everyone is ok...!!!

I'm not sure if Storm Chasers, or those who choose to stay home, and die, are two different breeds of peeps, yet I think so.

One is a scientist, getting a huge rush of dopamine, in performing their admirable work. The other, are plain idiots at times.....
