Starting small forward

Who should start at SF?

  1. Crabbe: Superior outside shooting and overall scoring ability; somewhat one-dimensional

    6.0%
  2. Harkless: Biggest, most athletic, most upside; can disappear at times

    79.1%
  3. Turner: Best ball-handller and distributor, highest BBIQ; worst outside shooter

    9.0%
  4. SlyPokerDog: If he were on the roster, he'd be too busy to moderate the forum

    6.0%

Mmmm.... I don't know. Who's the best in your opinion between:

    1. Harkless
    2. Turner
    3. Crabbe
    IMO it's Harkless > Turner > Crabbe

Mo is easily the best defender (IMHO Crabbe sucks on D).

You also have to take fit into account. Who fits best with the rest of the starters?

Defense is the main reason I don't think Crabbe should start. And Turner and Crabbe are a better fit offensively.

So, Crabbe at the 3, Turner at the 4, and Moe at the 5?

People are going to start clamoring for you to be the Big Man coach of S2 since you have so much experience being a Big man.

    Best 5 at each position.

    ET isn't our best PF.

That would actually be really fun to watch. That lineup may not be great at stopping the other teams bigs from scoring, but the other team basically has no chance of stopping us from scoring.

Mo would start if it's my choice simply because he's a two way player and I think you need defense to build an early lead...Turner I don't use at the 3...Crabbe has good chemistry with the bench mob and will take on more of an offensive role without Dame or CJ on the court

I wasn't sure where to ask this question. I didn't think it needed to be a new topic.

This was in a article from Casey Holdahl.

“The depth perception is a little bit different,” said Turner. “Sometimes I may shoot it short, but (at the Moda Center), I thought I was shooting it far enough and it was hitting the back of the rim or sometimes it would fall weirdly on the back of the rim, back of the iron. So I’ve just got to get used to that and get used to my surroundings. We don’t really do shootaround there or anything like that, so it’s not so much the game but so much the atmosphere for me. Just taking it all in.”

Why do they not have shoot around's/practices at the Moda center? I would think it would help with the comfort level of your home arena. Is that true for every team? I guess I didn't realize they didn't have access to the arena to get visually comfortable with their home court. Obviously it wont matter after a few more games.

I voted for Sly but I think Turner's three point shot will surprise you this season.

ET is going to have a Nic Batum role and I think he'll be better at it than Aminu was...letting Chief slide to the 4..I think Turner is going to be a big time game changer for Dame and CJ...when we need stops, we can load the court with good defenders and hide Dame or CJ easier..I watched some Celtics rerun playoff games and Turner was a factor....guy can cover some ground and bottle up a shooter

Harlless is the best offensive rebounder at SF in the NBA. That has a way of neutralizing a slow start with putbacks. I'd also like pushing the ball up the court at the start and looking for opportunities in transition, which is a strength of Harkless. Turner is a guy you bring in when the game bogs down and starts getting rough.

One of them will get traded at the trading deadline and it would probably be a safe bet that it won't be Sly.
