Let us assume I do hope to be amused. I can tell you for sure, I am amused when you share with the younger ones how talented Petrie was way back in the beginning of the Blazers.
Not so much when you wail about Trump two days after he was elected and blaming the voters. Then you want a list of shit fixed that has been what it is since man began. It really stinks
when your man had eight years, even though he had both houses and a mandate greater than Moses, and basically did nothing. Geez man, lets talk about Petrie, Lucas, maybe a current Blazer and then see where we are when the new mandate has implemented something. In the mean time, I am quiet sure you have enough bark on you to speak for calm, just a little while.

this is where you need to read up a bit...it's fine to not like something he's done, but history will show just how well he handled a string of the worst disasters in American modern history while repairing our relationships abroad. My retirement account at the end of Bush's tenure was dive bombing....since Obama it's stabilized and this is pretty important in my early 60s...my son got a degree and has a job...I've seen a much more desperate America than we've seen in the last 2 terms.....it's demonstrable....and he wasn't perfect, but did a good job with what he had to work with.

Trump is my president now. I have to hope there's a positive to neutralize my negatives about his term. I dislike Trump more than any president in my lifetime but that's not saying I wish for failure.....I think Obama got a lot of the wish for failure from the time he took office....didn't help anything...I'm going to give the new term the benefit of the doubt until I have reason not to.

Watch tv tonight and see if Vegas riots start. I finally broke out the Trump card leaving work. I'd been saving it all week but just had to use it.

My white buddy was trying to reload the time clock on the computer and three of my hispanic buddies were waiting to punch out. I walked up and told my white buddy what to click so the time clock would load.

It did, he punched out and I said I got to go next because I told him what to click to fix it.

My hispanic friends were cool with that but I had to throw in a "Trump won so I get to go next" just because.

I'd been saving it all week like Will Smith saved the bacon in I am Legend.

    I think I wasted it.

Alright river, you expand on how he fixed anything on unclecliff's list of bitches. But I will give him one thing, when he made it legal for me and millions more to lose our healthcare, we did.
Trump can't fix that either. I am lucky, I have backup plan B, but my wife does not.

You read me wrong on so many levels. But from the day Obama won the 2008 election all we ever heard was that everything was Obama's fault. Everything he did was wrong. And we had to take it. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Welcome to life in today's America. The Right didn't exactly give Obama any kind of a fair chance from the very get go, but now they want one for their boy.

And you asked me what I thought the protesters and the younger generation wanted. I gave you my opinion and now that is apparently what I want too., by your reasoning. Hey, Obama didn't make vile, crude and hateful comments to the masses. But Donnie undeniably did.

And I'm not blaming the voters so much as I'm blaming Hillary Clinton in general and the DNC in particular.

And since when did Obama have both houses??? C'mon Marz, even you should know that's not true. Most of his administration was an uphill battle.

And wow, the economy is growing.....maybe not leaps and bounds but we're no longer in the Great Recession that the Bush administration left us in. More Americans than ever before have healthcare, we have marriage equality which positively impacts a significant section of the American public. He's left most of Bush's tax cuts in place. He's restrained himself from thrusting our country into unnecessary wars. He nailed Bin Laden. We've had no major terrorist attacks and I suspect many have been thwarted under his watch. He pushed for...or at least supported....more domestic oil production, which certainly had a hand in lower gas prices. What more do you want???

Interestingly enough, the last guy who walked on water got crucified. I have yet to hear in 8 years a coherent, fair minded argument why Obama was such a "bad" president. I find it even more interesting that you folks want your boy to have a "fair" shot after years of verbally lynching Obama.

The only guarantee we have is that in 4 years one of us will be able to say "I told you so", and I genuinely and truly hope it's YOU who gets to say that.....but right now I struggle to believe that. And maybe the both of us should stay out of the OT threads.......

They don't care. If it doesn't a-line with their FEELINGS, then it's a blight on Humanity. According to them.

They DON'T actually CARE about real change. Otherwise, they'd be in the inner cities working at soup kitchens, volunteering with poor children, donating their time to homeless shelters, and working with leaders to stop gang violence.

Instead....they riot. And protest about shit they have no idea about other than how it makes them FEEL.

You can't fix that. Or, you can....but it requires the entire community knowing that they fucked up, and are willing to admit it. Good luck with that!

Yep. That's what happens when politicians and minority activists bully law enforcement to the point where they would rather not do anything, to be PC, instead of enforcing the laws and keeping people and property safe. There you go.

That's what they do. And that's why people voted for Trump.

It's not like it started yesterday. It's been happening gradually more and more the past decade. As social media becomes more popular, it has become even worse. And now it's to the point where people are actually screaming about it in public.

I stopped trying to understand it, because they are incapable of understanding anything besides their narrow-minded bigotry against anyone who doesn't goose-step to their way of thinking.

The saddest part I find is when Obama calls us "Bitter Clingers", Hillary calls us "Deplorables", the media calls us "Racist", and Harry Reid calls us "White Supremacists".....and then Trump comes along and calls us "Americans", and the Left can't understand why we voted for him.

    Get a fucking clue.

Of course he/they don't. They want a miracle worker. They want Obama to have a 20 year presidency. While conveniently ignoring the fact that our country is more divided under his presidency than we ever were under Bush, Bush Jr, or Clinton. And he did fuck all to stop it, and encouraged it with elitism and labeling.

You want an end to homelessness? Seattle, San Francisco, and Portland are all run by Democrats, and they have AWFUL homeless numbers.

    So....blame Trump, right?

    SMH.

This makes sense. Hopefully, it sobers him significantly. It's got to be pretty enlightening to know the secrets of this country that very few other people ever will.

Personally....as stupid as it sounds, I REALLY wanna know what the REAL story is behind Area 51. And I'm not even a conspiracy theorist.

First, please dont presume to know what I'm thinking. I usually make myself very clear in my posts. I simply expressed an opinion....which was presuming to know what other people think. Oh irony.......

Second, yeah, I DO want an end to homelessness. Or it be shifted elsewhere. I have shared interest in a commercial property in inner SE PDX and I'm tired of them pitching a half a block of tents and collected garbage against the side of our building. I haven't lived in Portland for 30+ years and have absolutely no desire to move back. You won't get any argument from me about The People's Republic Of Portland.......

Third, Trump found out yesterday that little green men live in the White House basement and actually are the power behind the Oval Office.....

Yep, it is true. Obama care passed both houses without need for a Republican.

"They want an end to racism, homophobia, wars, homelessness"

Obama did not end any of these, so by what legitimate logic can anyone expect it to be gone before Trump takes office? Seems odd to even think it, so it needs no answer.

I think I love you. That was well written.

I didn't mean to assume anything. I apologize if that was implied.

Sorry river, but you do not know what you are talking about. To begin with, what she (we) had is not available on the market. The list of problems are many more, and I am not about to type that much.

I'm sorry to hear that...my wife just finished up the dental, blood work, colonoscopy, mammogram, the whole works...brought her home from the last visit last week...fortunately she had a clean bill of health...my point was that Obamacare didn't stop us from having healthcare and it's been affordable

Hey, he passed Obamacare, so he accomplished something whether you agree with it or not. I'm personally going to see a lot of things I don't like get passed over the next 4 years. In the end it won't mean that Trunp didn't accomplish anything does it? And I seem to recall a couple of renegade Republicans who crossed the aisle for Obamacare. But I could be wrong....

Unfortunately, young people are not usually seasoned enough to have realistic expectations. They have to have their idealism beat out of them like the rest of us. But Trump, by his own words and actions has given them no hope he will even make an effort to address their concerns. But then, seeing how fast he's walking back a lot of the bullshit he vomited has to maybe give them a sliver of hope....

But.......those people in the Rust Belt certainly expect "someone"....and now it's Trump's turn in that particular barrel because he promised to hear and help them......to bring back the jobs that ended up overseas. Do you really think Trump is going to bring back those jobs?? Not unless he can find a shitload of altruistic corporations who are willing to invest unimaginable sums in the massive rebuilding of those mills and factories without regard to profits, "so by what legitimate logic can anyone expect" Trump to be their savior after he takes office? He made promises that he is unlikely able to keep....whether he desires to or not. And just like every other politician who gave false hope, he will pay the price if he doesn't deliver. At least Obama promised healthcare and actually delivered, flawed though it may be.

No I don't think necessarily "those jobs" is the correct term. But I do expect the business environment in this country to improve, making it possible for more jobs. He better get it done or it will be the next Democrats turn before you know it. However. 15% corporate tax has a hell of a lot better chance to get some business here again than raising taxes on corporations like the Class warfare Democrats advocate. Building a lot of Fords in Michigan doesn't seem like a good bet though, Toyota makes a much better rig.

I have been trying to figure out some Sailboat parts to make and sell. Absolutely none are made in this country any longer. It is dam difficult to do though, competting with China on some of the simple stuff, it's impossible price wise. I created a modification for the CQR anchor to make it work really well and there are thousands of those in use, so there would be a market for the improvement. The trouble is it requires melting and casting some lead. Getting the approval and changes needed in DEQ ain't going to happen in what life time I may have. I can't even get
the Tire dealers to sell me their use wheel weights because the DEQ will not let them do it. This is not law in the state, it has been done by administrative rule in the last 7 or 8 years.

Good night UCD, you know we aren't likely to change a friggin thing here either so take it easy.
