I do not get anxious over early season results. Remember how poorly the Blazers started last season, and then how good they were on D by the end of the season. However, there is one stat that gets me mad, VERY MAD. The fucking Fakers have a better record than the Blazers. How did that happen?????? If the playoffs started today, the Lakers would hold the 6th seed, and the Blazers would be out of the playoffs, and on vacation. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!
They were bad last year and improved.....but they were THIS bad. This defense has regressed drastically and they are getting blown out in every other loss. Last year they were at least competitive against the better teams but this year they aren't even on the same court. Sadly, the Lakers have improved quite a bit and are getting contributions from many players and not just two. Then again, the offense isn't designed for just 2 players to touch the ball 90% of the time. This team is so out of balance of offense and some players are relegated to just setting picks and playing defense. That rarely ends up in defensive brilliance.
Too much pressure on too many young impressionable minds? Trying to do too much, in the end hesitating, questioning, unsure of what the correct decision is... I think they are a bit overwhelmed with all the pressure and expectations causing them to over think things, thus making them slow.
Over thinking doesn't explain the lack of effort I see on a nightly basis. Sure there are blown assignments some of the time, but you don't get to worst in the league on that. This is a butter soft team that needs a gut check, needs to stop grabbing and fouling, and needs to play harder.
Calm down. Lakers gave up 149 points last night. OKC is slipping. Jazz are treading water. For all the doom and gloom around here, we are only .5 game behind the 6th seed.
I think the lack of financial flexibility and defense is what has people worried, not our record overall.
We were winning when guys got to the line and drove the lane..the amount of 3 pt misses causes a lot of long rebounds that lead to fast breaks...if we don't crash offensive boards, we're not going to get a lot of stops
