I potentially agree with most of this, but I have to know more about the jobs and deal. Im just pointing out that you can not claim it as a tax windfall where you recoup the costs because it is not. Indiana will be dealing with a lot less tax dollars because of this deal. Im also not sure if Trump is really a mild facist or if he just plays one of TV.

Let’s look at it from your side, using your numbers.

Instead of using the $7 million in tax relief to save the Carrier jobs. Let’s see how far the $7 million goes towards paying the un-employment benefits to the 800 jobs your method sends to Mexico.

The max weekly un-employment benefit for Indiana is $390 per week. I have no idea how their program works, or, who qualifies for the max. To be fair, I will use a lower number $300 per week.

800 X $300 = $2,640,000+ paid out every week to the un-employed Carrier workers whose job could have been saved.

The $7 million spent to save the jobs would pay less than 3 weeks of un-employment insurance.

The $7 million was going to be spent by the Govt either way. Trump’s idea has a positive return, and makes America better. Your idea has a negative return, and weakens America.

I did not vote for Trump, but hate when people with special interest agendas do not put America first, and do the right thing. So far, Trump is putting America first, and doing the right things.

Since when was math my idea?

If you lost $100 dollars but then found $50, would you consider yourself better off over all?

You believe losing the entire $100 is better than only losing $50?
Or are you saying jobs and working is un-American?

I can not tell how far your wacko beliefs go.

You are correct sir, and my math was wrong. My Apologizes.

However, the $7 million would only cover about 30 weeks of un-employment payments, vs keeping tens of $million in revenues to help pay for public services.

im certainly not saying its a bad thing the US kept those jobs. I just want trump to be tougher, he promised an alpha, and we are getting a cuck. they are giving them 7 million dollars, to keep less than half of their workers. he should have drawn a line in the sand and followed through with it.

keeping those jobs is good, and losing the others is bad. it can be both things if people can think independently about it and not stick to their preconceived notions.

    Agree 100%.
But now we are second guessing. None of us where part of the negotiations, or have any of the details that resulted in the compromise.

My guess is Carrier already made legal contracts/commitments to invest in Mexico. The number of jobs saved was probably negotiated to keep Carrier out of trouble in Mexico.

He's not talking like one lately.

The things he did in the '70s is inexcusable.

The government isn't writing a check to Carrier for $7M.

I said neither and nothing of the sort. You seem to be projecting some image on me, but if correct math is a wacko belief to you then we wont get very far in this conversation.

    Sure there's a difference.

If your paycheck is $100, you didn't make $200 and spend $100 of it somehow (leaving you with $100).

Yep and the added revenue on taxable income is made back from the credit.

I just love the political theater that Palin has spoken out against Trump.

    It's hilarious!

I would enjoy it if Kayne and Kim K set each other on fire. That doesn't make me a Kim K or a Kayne fan (or in MarAzul world a democrat.)

To actually try and make the argument that previously I've said that Palin is an idiot so it's not right, or fair, or what the hell ever, that I post a story about her speaking out against Trump is silly.

And posting it doesn't make me suddenly a Hillary fan.

I'm a big white person, I'm legally allowed to laugh at and/or hate a whole bunch of people.

@barfo edited one of @MarAzul's posts to read "I'm a democrat."

So it must be the truth.
