Basically said the Blazers were rumored to have offered Plums, Leonard and Harkless for Whiteside...also claimed we made contact about Vucevic from Orlando and Lopez from the Nets....they claim the Blazers may make a move long before the deadline

    That's a good point.
With Cousins you can count on thug loyalty though.

I also believe Paul Allen will nuke any Cousins trade being offered to him.

Where's it say he made contact? From HNGN:

The leak is probably from Miami, not us. I think that Olshey told Miami that he has options, to motivate them to keep their demands down. He may or may not actually be interested in the other 3 players.

Agreed. Trading our only good SF - at a time when there are very few good wings in the league - for another big is, at best, a lateral move. I can't think of any reasonable scenario where I'd trade Harkless.

We have guys who can step up at SF. Aminu (if we start, say, Davis). ET. Even Crabbe.

No thanks. Starting Turner goes against the reason we got him (to spell Dame/CJ), and creates spacing issues. Crabbe is not a SF, or a starter on a good team. Aminu is okay as a PF but sucks as a SF, and ideally would be a bench player.

Any two of Dame, CJ, or Turner can be on the court at all times.

Agreed - but you suggested Turner (among others) could start in place of Harkless, which would have him on the court with both Dame/CJ.

If Portland could do that without giving up CJ, I think you have to seriously consider it. Plums will likely be gone next year anyhow unless there is some type of trade because the Blazers simply don't have the Cap/Lux room to pay him even though it goes up a bit this next summer.

Wings are a dime-a-dozen compared to legit, dominant big men. If it were something like Plums, Crabbe, Aminu, 1st round pick, even though that is 2 starters and your 6th man, that is still something you can build around with Dame/CJ/Hassan.

There's enough minutes for them to all be on the court for 24 of the 48 minutes, if they all played 36. All of Q1 and Q4, for example. Though it's more typical that guys don't play the full 12 minutes.

    FWIW,

Riley loves his centers. I don't see him giving up Whiteside unless there's another high quality one in return, or unless he has one already on the roster.

Perhaps not. If we had signed him, we wouldn't have signed Turner and likely wouldn't have offered on some or all of Harkless, Leonard and Crabbe.
