Survived our usually dreadful 3rd quarter.

We won the 3rd by a point, so by our standards, it was a resounding success!

Who is going to step up in the 4th? I have a feeling CJ will go cold. Will Dame get it going again?

Because neither can shoot outside, which is apparently a Stotts requirement.

We've led wire to wire so far. Our defense is what it is, and I'm thinking we can close this out if we rebound well and take care of the ball.

I have confidence CJ will continue to hit any open 3s he gets. Thing is, will he continue to get them?

It's a modern basketball requirement. If you have 2 guys who have to be right next to the hoop to score, it clogs up the paint and makes the defense's job much easier. If they at least were capable post scorers you could justify keeping them in together for long stretches, but they are both terrible at it. They hamstring our offense, and they aren't big punishing bruisers on the defensive end that protect the paint at an extremely successful rate.

I want to slap Crabbe after that possession. He was all over his man forcing him to retreat, then he fucking slacks off a few steps and gives him plenty of daylight to drive by him and put Leonard in a shitty position, which of course means he's going to foul.

He certainly has the desire, the fight to be a good post defender for his size. And he looks to me to have added both upper body and core strength over the summer, which can only help.

Your observation makes me wonder if Dame could develop a decent post offence when he gets older, and slows down. Maybe Dame should try to organise some workouts with Andre Miller.
