Neil try lure suppose a needle mover like Parson a player that seen more side line in last 2 years then playing time so it might been fortune that we didn't get him. Turner is a solid player that can create and pretty good inside the 3 point line. The 2nd half season he did improve at the 3 point line. Turner to me is up grade to both Henderson and Crabbe. Crabbe is better at the 3 point line but nothing else. Do I want to keep Crabbe and the answer is yes. Lot of you down grading Turner and you will be the same people will praise Turner in the season. I don't complain about the money because it not my money.
Here is a question. Suppose we used up our remaining cap space with a small signing. Then suppose someone made an offer to Leonard or Harkless for 12-16 million. What if that club had a rim-protector making about the same salary. Could we make that trade or would that put us over the cap? (By the way I think it's interesting that Portland seems to be putting out the word they will match offers to Crabbe, but hear nothing about Harkless or Leonard; is Olshey inviting offers for them in hopes of a sign and trade? Is he letting them know they don't have to make a ridiculous offer to get them, therefore hoping to attract more potential trade partners?)
I kind of glossed over the discussions on this cuz I didn't really think they would shop him. Has anyone come up with realistic proposals? Could we start with a trade where we take Splitter off their hands, either for nothing, a draftpick or Vonleh. Then they offer Crabbe 15 million and we match and trade him for Millsap.
Seems like Crabbe's contract is virtually untradeable until this summer (BYC), no? Maybe we can work him into a sign and trade deal for Boogie this summer? Kill two birds with one stone
Isn't it "poison pilled?" If so, it could take a helluva lot longer than just this summer to trade his 9 PER, no-defense-playing, ass.
If you want to trade Crabbe and his contract and kicker..the only team that pays stupid money is Dallas...and they'd trade Wes for Crabbe in a heartbeat..that's about the only way you trade Crabbe this season
If they offer him a starting role, he'd be tempted...he'd be part of their core and with us, he's an overpaid bench player
Does the 15% kicker go to Crabbe? With the tax rate in Texas, that would be a pretty nice haul. It would make my decision pretty easy if I was him.
