I know who he is, I've seen some of his video. I'm not calling HIM a racist.

"Cool urbanites." See, I fucking lived in Arkansas for 3 years. I know Arkansans. I have a good friend who lives in a place that is not part of a place called Hattieville, they regard them as city slickers. And he and his wife are in their 60s and have lived there pretty much their whole lives, except when he was in Vietnam. And he would call Trump voters racist fuckwits. If he was a lot less polite than he is.

I grew up in rural Iowa...John Deere tractor caps, chewing tobacco, farmers....we didn't talk about politics or religion...they talk about the weather and animal husbandry...I relate to his point...I was never a racist although they exist there, they are actually independent minded folk for the most part..

Dude, you (and a couple others) having acquired an absolute addiction to the pejorative "butt hurt" for all those who disagree with you (and for whom you disagree with) is what is TRULY sad (though it's always easier to insult than debate). But nice try at a higher moral ground that doesn't even exist. FAIL! Wading through this forum makes me really wonder who the "elitists" really are.........

Is this politically correct? I can't tell, as I think the term is meaningless:

The thing that pisses me off about this whole narrative is that we're being told that it's the fault of the coastal elites that we didn't consider the sensitive feelings of working class white men, and we're asked to forget that the guy they voted for is enthusiastically supported by LITERAL NEO-NAZIS (whom he, in turn, repeatedly re-tweeted), and HIRED one as his campaign manager, and intentionally used the language of the Ku Klux Klan, while mocking disabled people, gloated about repeated sexual assault, called for a religion-based purge, got his baying followers to chant "build the wall" et. al., and after he got elected, fucking kids in school started mocking their brown classmates "because Trump". And all we hear is "you're twisting his words! He's not racist! How dare you!" "Keep calling us racist and see what happens!" Somehow calling other people racist is now supposed to be worse than actually being it. (Except, of course they're not. They just enthusiastically endorse racist policies.)

The #1 predictive factor for being a Trump supporter was being authoritarian. We are heading into dark times. And the people gloating are like a water polo team who won by shitting in the pool and are laughing at the other team for being disgusted, while they continue to swim in a pool full of shit.

But that's just one man's opinion. No doubt given the amazing influence of elitists like me I just created 3 more Trump voters, they're so outraged at my dismissive and insulting ways.

My ex-Vietnam buddy used to tell us about the quaint small towns that were between the town we lived (Morillton) and the town we worked in (Conway). One of those small towns was the "black" town. The other one was the "white" town. In the white town there lived a guy who EVERYBODY KNEW had beaten a black man to death. But he was the sheriff, so there was nothing anybody could do. Oh, and in our town there was a public pool that now EVERYBODY could use. Because they de-segregated it! In the 1970s.

    I don't miss Arkansas.

Of course there are. Trump didn't win 100% of the vote!

I liked most of my students in Arkansas. Probably more than my students at USC, which is where I was coming from. But the place has a creepy vibe. I could never stop thinking of that Richard Pryor stand up thing where he talked about being in the woods and hearing "Yee-hah!" and his blood freezing.

The Ozarks are beautiful, though, and Fayetteville is a cute little college town in a gorgeous setting.

Show me the threads and posts that supports this back when they were voting blue? I've never seen anyone complain about those states being red necks.

Oh I get it. You base an entire state on 2 people. Got it
