We all have been losers for the past 8 years.

Get ready to win for a change.

Actually, get ready for change for a change. And real hope.

    Suuuuure.

If we don't actually change anything, there won't be actual change. Promises not kept by previous politicians to the contrary.

Another "let them eat cake" post... at least you're consistent.

You look at Donny's cabinet picks and you really and truly think that things are going to change for the better???? I have no doubt things are going to change, but almost certainly for the worse. But then, I guess even potentially catastrophic change is better than no change in the Big Book Of Denny. And wow, a politician who didn't keep a promise......what a tremendous shock. I'd be curious to know how Obama genuinely made daily life worse for all the Obama haters on this forum personally. I doubt anyone has a relevant answer other than that related to health care.

I hope things change for the better. I had less hope if Clinton would have won. A LOT less hope.

Obama. The emperor wears no clothes.

If there's a Trumpgret thread, why not an Obamagret one?

He inherited most of the debt from Bush. It was either pay up or watch the economy go even farther down the tubes. I'm not happy Obama bailed those assholes out but he was between a rock and a hard place. Basically it was a no win situation. Thanks Bush! Funny how the Republicans conveniently ignore that. And want to return to the ways and days that led to the problem. And I realize you (or at least your wife) got fucked on the health care thing. But other than that, in what other specific way did the Obama administration adversely affect your own personal life? How did MarAzul's....or Denny Crane's....or Mag's or Blue32's daily lives change??? I am genuinely curious......Bush actions totally tanked my investments. Obama's actions brought them back. So what's your excuse?

When we finally take China to task seriously for copyright infringement, they'll end up owing us money and decades of royalties...they didn't play fair in the trade world at all...still don't. The China US relationship is probably the most dangerous thing we face moving ahead...the US has forgiven debt all over the world ..... we basically had to shore up the country from total collapse and when Obama took office he said it would take several decades to heal the damage...he's right but folks think there's a quick fix ...it's a long term reconstruction period we're faced with and it's not because of the last 7 plus years of administration...it's because the two terms previous to Obama...they weren't paying any fucking attention

He added $9 x 10^12. That's 9 followed by 12 zeros. Don't blame Bush for what Obama deliberately did.

There were much better options, but Obama wanted to spend, spend, spend. And he did.

I have dozens of friends who lost their health coverage, thanks Obama.

I have several friends who lost their homes because they went underwater. Thanks Obama bailout.

I just hope it isn't lies for personal political gain (or personal gain). Seen enough of that the past 8 years and in the Clinton campaign.

you should take your anger and redirect it ...bankers, stock brokers and realtors particularly...this all snowballed under Bush's watch...reconstruction is expensive...sorry about your friends losses though...that sucks...I had friends lose their homes under Reagan..

My biggest Obamagrets I have is that this man had every opportunity to truly make positive change and instead used the power to push his progressive agenda.

Bush Administration Tried to Reform Freddie and Fannie Five Years Ago
    By | February 19, 2009 | 10:40 AM EST

A Google search brings up the following Sept. 11, 2003 New York Times article, which shows the Bush administration was aware of potential lending problems and did try to do something about it:

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.

The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

But yeah, blame Bush. Or maybe.... those obstructionist democrats

Rep. Gregory Meeks, a New York Democrat, said at that Sept. 25, 2003 House Financial Services Committee hearing that he was “pissed off at OFHEO (Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight),” because of the agency’s suggestion that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be regulated more closely. A number of other Democrats agreed there was no need for reform.
