It seems Trump and his picks aren't all that religious, eh? Another form of draining the swamp. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/21/politics/trump-religion-gospel/ Trump's attempts at public religion have been awkward, at best. He said he does not ask for forgiveness and "does not bring God into that picture" when he makes mistakes. He has tried to put money in the Communion plate and referred to the sacrament as "my little wine" and "my little cracker." He mispronounced a book of the Bible, and when asked about his favorite verse, has either deferred or, in one case, cited "an eye for an eye," an Old Testament revenge scheme specifically condemned by Christ. (Turn the other cheek, Jesus said.) Trump tussled with the Pope and was shushed by a minister in Detroit. He often looks uneasy when pastors lay their hands on him and pray. He says he is proud of his evangelical support but not sure he deserves it. When asked theological questions, Trump often speaks in terms so vague they approach opacity. Asked "Who is God to you?" by the Christian Broadcasting Network, Trump answered "God is the ultimate," then began a brief spiel about how he got a great deal on a golf course before circling back to his original definition. "So nobody, no thing, no there's nothing like God." Trump's broad language often serves a purpose, says Michael D'Antonio, author of "The Truth About Trump," a biography. "Donald keeps his options open. He make things mysterious and unclear so that he can say anything else at another time." Trump's supporters have a different explanation. Trump is a businessman, not a pastor.
As if he ever was... http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/newt-gingrich-trump-not-using-drain-the-swamp
You say things when you want the evangelical vote. I don't think he's anything like a born again anything religious. You visit a black church in Detroit if you want to win the black vote, too.
Lets be honest here. We can all agree that Trump is hardly religious. I don't think that's why the evangelics actually voted for him, IMO.
Those in my church who voted for him did so primarily in opposition to Hilary rather than in support of Trump. Many of them specifically because of their opposition to abortion and fear of an overly liberal Supreme Court.
Exactly... They knew that Hillary would appoint liberal judges that they feared would take away their religious and constitutional liberties.
Why are you libs so obtuse? What the fuck makes you think he is lying? Is too difficult for your pee brain to grasp concepts? Only a midget mind hangs on expression as if it must be a precision script. Dumb has taken control of this forum since the absolute defeat of liberalism. Now you fall to obtuse as plan B.
It must be difficult being the only smart guy in the room all the time, eh......? Sorry for your trials........
Pronouncements like these are just as ridiculous and premature as doom and gloom proclamations from the naysayers asserting that he'll destroy the country and the economy and plunge us into war and eternal darkness. Can't people on both sides of the fence just sit back and let him actually do something (no, meetings resulting in nebulous promises don't count) before we start writing the man's epitaph?
