A credible article. Make it happen http://www.si.com/nba/2016/12/13/ne...rs-warriors-raptors?xid=socialflow_twitter_si
I have thought for awhile that Crabbe and a 1st for Noel makes sense. Have to wait about a month for it to happen though.
While I agree with this sentiment: The upside comparison is bizarre. What made Noah special in his prime was his tremendous passing ability on offense to go with his strong defense. Nothing suggests that Noel will be a great, or even good, passer. I'd say that the dream with Noel is a prime Tyson Chandler or the current DeAndre Jordan. A great rim-protector and rebounder, and a rim-runner on offense, turning pick-and-rolls into lobs for dunks. That would make him a star, as someone who can set a screen and then turn into a credible scoring threat going to the basket helps open up shooters.
My fear, if we go through with this, is we end up with a worse passing - much better defending Plumlee. A player where the offense stagnates (becoming 4 on 5) because opposing defenses don't respect his offensive prowess. Personally I'd much rather we target Okafor - big upside and surely he can't be a worse defender than what we already have. . .
After all the problems they'v had with Noel and how badly they'v killed his value I wouldn't offer anything other then a first rounder.
Just last year, before all this nonsense, he was averaging 11 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks in 29 minutes on 52% FG shooting. By comparison, last year Mason Plumlee was averaging 9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 25 minutes on 52% FG shooting. So slightly more points, rebounds, less assists, more steals, more blocks and similar shooting. He was in his 2nd year at age 21 while Plumlee was in his 3rd year at age 25. I'd be more than willing to take a shot on Noel who has similar production at 4 years younger of an age.
Same. They'd be lucky as shit to get someone like Crabbe, nevermind a first on top of it. First round picks are more valuable than ever before. Cheap way to acquire talent.
Well, don't worry. In this world of fantasy these low paid plebians who toil in front of these caviar-munching teachers and elitest sewer workers can always sit out the game and show their displeasure. I also imagine you pay less than 8 dollars for a 16 ounce cup of beer in this alternative dimension/personal hell....
oh i'll take him but i'd not give a lot or him, especially since he is a RFA and we would have half a season to decide if we wanted to give him the giant ass contract he is going to want.
