for decades all I had access to for news in english was the BBC and I got hooked on it....my wife and I listen to Taiwanese news broadcasts regularly...it's so different in the media here....I prefer a lot of international news feeds to American media...

So if the government pays you to say that my posts are wrong, you'd be doing the same thing you are now, but getting paid for it.

Seems like a sweet deal for you.

I don't want them to decide if I'm right. That's not Free Speech, it's authorized speech.

Exactly, well said. Which was my main beef from my OP.

Yep, Congress says they think that should occur, but don't give any means by which that would occur within this bill.

You think they don't already do that? And regardless, even if they do, that still doesn't equate to censorship, which is all my point has been this whole time. At no point have I defended the bill; simply disputed the OP's claim that it is the start of censorship. I don't see it, and I don't buy into the hysteria.

This government has already abused its power using laws that look benign. From denial of 501(c)3 status to opposition groups to the president calling a news network an illegitimate source to denial of ballot access to third parties. Even worse is the fabrication of crimes against whistle blowers, IRS audits as intimidation, and regulatory harassment. Among others.

Apparently it isn't obvious to you. Perhaps an analogous situation might do?

Walmart is so big and so dominant in magazine distribution that when it refuses to carry a magazine, it is effectively censorship. The government dwarfs Walmart. And it is now authorized to promote MSNBC with unlimited funds, to destroy Fox News.

Another is Church/State. Even the teeniest action that might be considered establishing religion is forbidden.

The government can tell people its version of the Truth. But to be the authority of what is Truth is right out of 1984. It is a clear attack on the First.

with unlimited funds. Already has government support as 501(c)3 while similar groups right of center were denied.

    Say, "thanks Obama."

Guns don't kill people, freedom of speech kills people... Or something like that.

Who is going to counter domestic propaganda? I keep seeing a commercial where they say repeal "healthcare" and not "Obamacare or ACA"

Yep, they're going to just repeal healthcare and we'll all die.
