Not talking about certain types or artists, just all music in general.

    I don't think I ever have.

And don't say deaf people, the few I've known can feel the beat and rhythm and enjoy it.

No, but I've met people who don't like dogs OR cats. I figured everyone would like one or the other but some people don't like any types of pets.

I am very hesitant to associate with people like that. The music thing would freak me out too.

I haven't. However, I've met people who are hypersensitive to loud sounds.

I love music, but I get very little enjoyment out of watching people make music live - concerts, etc.

Interesting. Do you like the symphony? An acoustic set at a small bar? Do or did you play an instrument?

I played in the Portland Metro Youth Symphony, I loved playing in older halls because the stages were made of wood and hollow underneath. The instruments would blend and meld together, reverberating up from under and around you. It's completely different than stereo. It's not loud, it's enveloping.

To me, watching someone play an instrument would be like watching someone paint a painting, or having someone watch me write a sentence - pretty boring!

In my 20s I joined some guys in a jam session one night and grabbed the maracas but they kicked me out after five minutes because I threw off the beat - ha!

Although, speaking of Neil Diamond, I did seem him play the Greek Theater back in the day, and that was pretty great. Also, I never get tired of seeing Bruce. Ever.

I am a huge tennis fan and back in the day tennis legend Pete Sampras said he hated music, all music and resented that he was forced to listen to it in public whenever he went anywhere...said he didn't want it around his home at all, called it noise pollution..his life was all tennis and golf.

I've known a few people who were on the spectrum, who didn't enjoy music (well, the vast majority of music). It was sensory overload for them.

I've had a few experiences in my life where I didn't want to hear music (or certain songs), but I know that isn't just an exclusive character trait of mine. Stress, illness, anger (etc) can make you overly sensitive to noise stimulation like that.

The brain is a strange and interesting thing.

There is an entertainer I do not hate but my elective word would be terrible. ND should have given up his singing career years ago. Aretha Franklin should never have sung at Obama's inauguration.

Wayyy back in 1970 I played in a band with a keyboardist, guitarist drummer and my contribution as a bassist. One night when we arrived at the keyboardists house he suggested we drive over to where he works and play a free gig. We had gotten into a proper mood in the van. We arrived at a place with large institutional buildings and then realized the keyboard player worked as an orderly for the mental institution. We got into the elevator the doors opened and approximately 80 people were waiting for us. It was funny as the drummer asked a patient for drugs and the patient requested the same. We were so awful that I was embarrassed but they seemed to like it.

Can't say as I ever have. But if this is considered music, then I have to count myself, "a hater."

What hasn't been documented for posterity that cannot be found on YouTube?
