Wouldnt be surprised if he takes a year off and goes to some place like ND or Miami. NFL just broke down his offense and made it look flimsy. But I'll be kind of pissed if he goes to some place like UCLA after we basically told him to write his own salary.
How crazy would that be if he goes back to the PAC12 and specifically defeats the Ducks. Somehow I think he still stays a Niner tho
It's official, he's been fired. Why didn't the fucking Ducks wait to hire a coach so they could get him back.
He won 10 games his first 2 years with the Eagles. He was a good coach that could adapt to the NFL game. He just didn't have any kinds of weapons in SF. That team might have the worst roster in the NFL just outside of Cleveland. I mean what did they expect him to do with that turd?
Depends on what he said he could do when he interviewed for the job. I'm guessing he promised more than what he actually delivered.
Guys, the 49ers offensive talent was horrendous this year. Their leading WR is someone they signed off the street at the last minute...their WR is the most pathetic in NFL history, and their QBs are god awful as well. It wasn't Kelly's fault. His offense DID work in Philly.
No it's not. He had nothing to do with the personnel on the team. No coach could have won with such poor talent. And the defense was so terrible because it was decimated by injuries..most of the guys out there were 2nd and 3rd stringers. Their offense was actually not horrific, it was the defense that was one of the worst in league history. I say he actually got more out of it than par.
It has to do mostly with Chip being an insufferable jerk to people he works for...word is he's a very, very high maintenance guy...he has a reputation of being tough to deal with. Losing didn't help but then again, maybe Chip didn't help either.
Forget about SF because I agree he got a bit of a bad wrap with what he had to work with but if Chip was so good then he wouldn't have been fired by the Eagles. Somehow 10 wins in each of his first two years is this monumental achievement? and then other teams figured him (and his scheme) out the last quarter of his 2nd season and he totally went into the tank his 3rd and last year with the Eagles. He is probably better than some coaches who still have a job but lets not pretend he is a top 10 coach who just got dumped.
Huh? Chip Knew what he was walking into. If he told 49ers management he could turn their pile of shit into gold and he didn't, then its on him. Black and white. He should have never said that. He should have went in letting them know they need a long term plan. Be the same thing as if I walked into my company and told my boss I could ship everything for $10 or less. Period. Completely unreasonable, but IF I cant... then its on me.
I wonder if York said shit for him to take the job that otherwise Chip wouldn't have taken it. Like we are going to make some changes with personnel and this same shit roster won't be intact a year from now. Honestly, I'm wondering if Chip isn't relieved to be relieved of his duties.
He just got fired, he would definitely take the first NFL job offered.....he's just experiencing what Mike Riley did when he coached the Chargers....he couldn't turn it around.
