    Hello darkness, my old friend
My IQ is 163. For those of you unfamiliar with IQ, this means I have "genius-level" intelligence. I also have synaesthesia, and absolute pitch. Things as diverse as math, music, and art come naturally to me and I get straight A's without studying much at all. I also am able to understand music at a deeper level than most people. While most people my age spend their free time listening to mainstream music, I spend my free time listening to works such as Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2, and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. All this and I'm still in high school. Ask me anything.

They'll probably lock you up in the van and then lock the van up for the safety of the prison population

Since we are all talking about me right now, I have a quick story that might get me more LIKES.

This story is true, every word, no joke.

Off day here in The Bay today and even though it was 48 and pouring sideways, Mr and Mrs The HCP decided to go site seeing. We hit up all the spots. While at Fishermans Wharf, we were walking on the right side of this narrow sidewalk with our umbrella opened as people coming the other way, both sides were trying to not bump into each other.

My head was down and I saw feet, I stopped not wanting to run into whoever was walking the wrong direction at us trying to run into a restaurant. As I stop and look up the guy is with his girl and says in a deep voice kinda' flexing at me, "Watch the fuck out bro!" "You almost hit my girl!" Not a big guy, but he was coming at me like he wanted to punch me. I was kinda speechless, which is NEVER a problem. I said,"Relax man, I didn't even see you guys and YOU jumped in front of us!"
This guys takes a step towards me like he wants to go! His girl who was gorgeous by the way, looked at me, grabbed his arm and pulled him back. She smiled and worded with her mouth, "I'm so sorry"

At this point my wife started walking off.

The reason I was speechless 10 seconds prior was because as soon as the word "RELAX" came out of my mouth, I RECOGNIZED WHO THE FUCK IT WAS AND WAS COMPLETELY MIND BLOWN!

I would consider him a pretty big movie star and has been in huge blockbuster hits! I am/was a pretty big fan of his until this. He has a tons of history when it comes to getting arrested, drugs/alcohol....TMZ type stuff!

Motherfucking Indian Jones' kid.....Mutt try to roll up on The HCP! He had a big beard and it took a sec!

Motherfucking Stanley Yelnats IV from Holes squared up on me!

This was his wife and he had a beard just like this!

Anyway , thought some of you movie geeks might enjoy this tale. My wife was blown away that it happened at all and then couldn't believe it when she realized who it was too!

In my line of work, had some brushes with fame, but never had one try to whip my ass! I'll never look at Tranformers the same! FAMS!

I didn't grow up during the "everybody's a winner and gets a trophy, we're all special because mommy says we are" era, so I'm just not as thin skinned as others seem to be.

For fuck's sake, this is an anonymous internet forum. How exactly does someone get so freaking upset and butt hurt by what some other anonymous poster says about them? Nobody even knows who you are in real life. If it is really that important to you what a bunch of anonymous strangers think about you, I think that's a you problem.

I've been called a lot of things in my time here, and never once have I let it get to the point of genuine anger, or offense. The only time I was truly offended by what someone posted was the time the former poster known as PapaG (among other things) called my then 12-year old daughter a whore. That crossed a line. Call me anything you want. I can handle that, but leave my kids out of it.

Can HCP be abrasive? Sure he can. Big fucking deal. Grow a pair and brush it off as just part of the normal noises in here. By pouting about his rude behavior, you are actually validating it. If he calls you a big baby and you cry about it, he's actually right. Man/Woman up, shoot back a clever retort and move on. No need to make a federal case out of it.

Just my fucking opinion, which I'm entitled to now that I'm officially a grumpy old man.

Cool story bro. Yeah, my son used to be a big fan of his, until he found out what a douche bag he is in real life.

PS: for the record the above comment was referring to HCP, not Shia Labeouf.

Shia Labeouf also had the balls to say shit about Spielberg. It's not exactly a smart thing to tell your boss off like that especially one as influential as Spielberg is in the movie industry.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's fine, but we have different standards/rules than that. Just as Disneyland has different standards and rules than a strip club does. We're probably somewhere in between those two extremes, but personal attacks (with some common sense applied, like not worrying about two friends bantering with each other) have always been against the rules. Part of the reason for that is because insult wars tend to devolve into garbage obscuring real discussion.

You have a different line than someone else might. There's nothing objective suggesting that your line is the one everyone should adopt. And I say that as someone who also isn't much bothered by insults. As you say, though, that's your opinion and it's always worthwhile to drop in your input. Maybe someone who reads your post will take it to heart and also develop thicker skin--that's always useful for online life in general.

I recommend Shostakovich "The String Quartets" and any Rachmoninoff concertos....I love Beethoven conducted by Anton Bruckner and Mahler for the broad journey.
