What bank? We'd have to send out about 20m in salary just to acquire him, so we'd only be adding 10m or so after his extension, and we're probably going to shed Crabbes contract at some point as well.

He is going to get 35 MIL a year. We are at the luxury tax threshold. So closer to 14 (not 10) MIL is a huge deal. You are banking on trading Crabbe for only expiring contracts (because if you took back a player who wasn't in the final year of his deal in this fantasy trade then you are no closer to out of the tax)? That isn't happening.

I look at it like this; Id rather spend 30-35m per on Millsap than spend 30-35m per on Crabbe, Leonard, and Davis/Ezeli.

We all would--it's just going to be nearly impossible to dump all those contracts for just expirings. It might be possible if Portland packaged first round picks with them, but then they're left with little trade ammunition to get Milsap.

We're going to need to match salaries in this theoretical Millsap trade and I think they'd be interested in Leonard, and we could throw in Ezelis contract as well which shouldn't be an issue for them.

That leaves Crabbe, but I think his contract looks a lot better as a starter, and I definitely feel he is a starting caliber player that would interest a lot of teams.

Well, we're definitely going have to agree to disagree on how attractive those players will be to Atlanta and other teams in general. I hope you're right.

Ok, so Leonard/Ezeli for Millsap, Crabbe for Noel, Plumlee/Harkless/Vonleh/picks for Butler, and then the title is ours.

You're wildly overpaying for all three players.

Pretty sure Plumlee, Harkless and Vonleh plus picks is a decent deal for Butler. Noel for Crabbe would be good return too. And Ezeli plus Leonard for Millsap is also a good return.

I always liked Thomas Robinson and never understood why he kept getting benched. The dude is exactly what you want off the bench, he's a rebounding machine.

I'm inclined to believe we are not pursuing Cousins. We don't have the assets to get it done anyway, unless we find a way to include CJ in the deal which we will prefer not to. Maybe Cousins at the beginning of the season could be attainable with other assets but after new CBA which gives Sac a great chance to retain him next year, nah.

And for Butler you absolutely must give up either CJ or Lillard. He's a top player in great from, if Chicago are looking for offers they will want something which will allow them to build their future on, not scrubs. Last Summer they were rumored to be willing to trade him for Minnesota's pick (which turned into Dunn) and some fillers but he was in a different position back then, not quite the All-Star quality he has displayed since. I bet the likes of Philadelphia, Boston and Minnesota now regret not swapping their players or picks for him. Boston would have probably got him for Smart plus #3 pick. I still fail to understand why they didn't trade that pick and went with Jaylen who was projected 5-7, he's played 13 MPG with 5 PPG so far and it's almost halfway through season so it's not like they needed him badly NOW and they are in win now mode with Thomas, Horford and Bradley all at their peak.

I say we let it bake. It's a proven winning recipe with us. Plus, our players are so much more valuable than who we would get back. Heck, another 5 or 6 years and Meyers will find his game. Too early to shake things up

I know, but you gotta give to get. Was tempted to also suggest Layman/Connaughton for Wiggins, but I didn't want to gut the entire roster.

We should not be overpaying for Wiggins. In no way is he worth giving up Connaughton for.

What would you guys think of a CJ+Picks for Jabari/Henson type deal?

I suggested a CJ for Jabari thing and got dumped on. I like CJ more than Jabari but that trade would make both teams better balanced.

I would rather a Lillard for Giannis though. Of course, we had a chance for CJ for Giannis in 2013.

Are the Bucks rumored to want to trade Parker?

No. Him and Giannis are tearing teams apart. They will get their shooting guard back in 2 months too (Middleton) and Brogdon is a good talent. They won't be looking for trades IMO.
