Not sure what the point is to include Festus in a trade to Philly, unless a second player is coming back, and we need the roster spot. Cap space and LT wise this season, Festus's contract would be a non factor, for both teams.

Contract wise only, Okafor would save $4+ million per season over Moe.

If we're trading Harkless to PHI it better be something like:
Harkless/Festus/CLE's pick for Okafor/Covington (assuming PHI isn't trading Noel)

Quick reporting that Festus scheduled to rejoin the team after the trip. Could all be much ado about nothing. However, that's not as fun to talk about.
I'm not interested in giving up a lot for him, but I'd happily take a flyer on Okafor upside. I can't see them having a ton of interest in harkless, however. Brooklyn needs young talent, harkless could be attractive to them in a Lopez deal, perhaps.

As others have said, Okafor seems like an Olshey / Stotts guy.

He reported that last night. Also, the operative word here is "scheduled." He didn't use that word last night. I'm guessing he's just covering his tracks.

Seems in the wheelhouse of underperforming lottery picks NO likes to take a chance on (Robinson, Vonleh).

Ezeli, Harkless, and a first round to Phoenix for Chandler and a side piece

    Or

Ezeli, Harkless, and a first round for Noel + a side piece...

Layman and Vohleh were on the bench too...so that's Fetus, Shabazz, Layman, Harkless and Vonleh kept pretty much out of action....trade bait?

    Pure speculation on my part.

Just maybe Festus’s hug fest last night was a real goodbye, BUT, for a different reason than a trade.

Maybe NO informed his agent that his non-guaranteed contract would not be picked up next season, duh. And for Festus to take the rest of the season off, with pay. This would give Festus a stress free way to get healthy, and possibly have a shot at a contract next season, with a different team.

Also, it will be interesting to see if Okafor actually plays in tonight’s game.

I'm with you there. Why do I have this feeling that we're gonna get some half-assed center that won't really make a difference???

Festus is attractive to any team needing to shed salary....and most of the contenders need to shed some salary

What's his value though? Maybe a late second round pick. He hasn't been able to play all season and will likely be unavailable until next season. Even getting him for next season makes little sense as he will take $7M of cap space and may never play.

True, BUT, CJ thinks Festus smells bad, and takes up too much space in the locker room.

This first one feels like a shitty outcome waiting to happen. The second one is probably, sorta, maybe close. Depends on what Philly wants and what kind of other offers are out there.

It better be for Noel - no way should it be for Chandler.
