They put a bandaid on a problem that requires surgery. They should have passed a law to make
    Give me some examples.

I don't despise Obama. He is a good guy. Unlike the previous democrat, his administration was almost entirely scandal free. He didn't boink an intern, for example.

In fact the worst scandal in his entire 8 years was caused by Clinton and her illegal email server.

W had little league at the White House all the time. He read to children in classrooms. And he was ridiculed.

He was declared illegitimate from day 1, even though he won the vote legitimately. "The Supreme Court selected him."

What comes around, goes around. Karma is a bitch.

Some tried to make out that Obama was somehow illegitimate. Particularly with the birth certificate nonsense. But left leaning media questioned McCain (who was born on a military base in Panama, and even Ted Cruz.

If there's any truth to Obama's presidency, it's that the emperor wore no clothes. The same people wanting to destroy the incoming president turned a blind eye to Obama's numerous failings and outright illegal actions. They raved about an unearned Nobel Prize and the fact that Obama was bombing at least 3 nations within days of being awarded the Peace prize.

Illegal actions? With no authority, Obama has bombed and put troops in Libya, Syria, and bombed dozens of other nations. Over 25,000 bombs dropped in 2016 alone. The anti-war crowd had marches during W's term, but where were they when Obama was bombing Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan? If it's about boots on the ground only, we have boots on the ground in 138 nations.

Sure Russia has been a thorn in our sides for the past two decades, but it is insane that we had this march toward military confrontation with them. Instead of being open to negotiation, we unilaterally put sanctions on them. Clinton ran her campaign on increasing confrontation and risk of military engagement.

The government spies on us all. They read every email we send, listen to every phone call, and so on. Not only does the government spy on us, it spies on our allies. They bugged the phones of leaders of our allies. We intruded into the elections of too many foreign elections to count. We have our own agencies creating malware/spyware/viruses and deploying them against foreign governments (the obvious example is the stuxnet virus we unleashed on the Iranian nuclear program).

If there's any hope, it is that an outsider who ran against the Democratic corruption machine and the Republican establishment really will work to set things right. There was no hope with any of the two parties' alternatives, except maybe Sanders (who had a lot of really bad ideas to go along with his honesty).

HCP.....I have no answer for what people could possibly justify voting for Trump fixes....I'm like you...a parent, vet and retired teacher...I don't think Donald Trump has any moral character at all.....think he's always surrounded himself with yes men and in his own words has used his power for bad behavior. I can't bring myself to trust anything he says and I just hope there are better people than him who will keep him from fucking a lot of stuff up....we're talking about a guy who governs by insult and threat....not reasoning. I see him as another in a long list of presidents that I'm not a fan of....Obama to me was a breath of fresh air in Washington...history will look on him kindly in my view

I have had contractors I did not pay. Most people that have hired a few, find one or more they should not have hired, and for damn sure, should not pay.

    >>> Do you think they will name a Carrier in his honor? The USS Barrack H. Obama! I don't think so.

I alway wondered how this happened. He described his younger days as a, Pot smoking kid, not particularly good in school. He had no money. So how do you get to Harvard on that road?

Bruh, there's already a USS Gabrielle Giffords, and a USS Jimmy Carter. I'm sure Barack's name on a ship has already been decided.

Naw, we would have heard about it. But in any case that can change in a moment. Take the USS Shangri La for instance, it was named in a moment.
After the Doolittle raid on Tokyo, a reporter ask FDR where the planes came from? FDR replied Shangri La! The mythical place in the Ronald Colman, 1937 movie, Lost Horizon.
The next Essex class Carrier commissioned, was the USS Shangri La.

PS The Carter is not a Carrier and that Secretary of Navy is gone Friday.

This is the core of Trump's appeal. This is why people saying "but when he takes away their healthcare, doesn't build the wall, stacks his cabinet with Goldman Sachs people, blah blah, his supporters will turn on him!" are sadly mistaken. And that's why his ranting at Meryl Streep is actually politically canny. Just so long as he hates "the liberal elite" he'll be fine with the Trumpsters. That's literally why they cannot point to a single positive thing about him - he doesn't need one. They're like people drowning on the Titanic who are happy because they think that salty taste is liberal tears.

Of course, we have to invent a new definition of "elitist" when this is your champion of the common folk:

Those two things don't go together. Mike Bloomberg is a businessman. Trump is a reality TV star who was bankrupt when the Apprentice rescued him.

I've written numerous times about the positive things about him, as have numerous other people here. Just because you ignore them, doesn't mean they're not there.

Hey, as long as I'm drowning happy, right? :biglaugh:

Bullshit. Bloomberg is a controlling little Dictator. He's FAR worse than Trump will ever be.

Trump won't try and regulate what you eat and drink, as long as his logo is on it, lmao.

As soon as he played poisinous games with the GOP candidates I assumed he would never make to the final round. Both he and Clinton were awful choices and now we are subjucated to horror 1/20/17 on wards. My wife found a stat that I was not aware of regarding the general group that supported Trump was the "the uneductaed white male."
