I agree with your first statement. If you just own a car, and keep it in your car safe, that does not make you more likely to get into an accident. If you drive the car, though, you are more likely to get into an accident. If you don't believe me, I will rear-end you (don't get too excited) next time I see you stopped at a traffic light. There you go. Attempting to demonize a tool instead of the actions of the person handling it is outrageous and asinine. Two days ago, I watched a video from a cartel in Mexico who had a half-dead guy on a bloody floor. The guy was missing his face, which had been peeled off with a box cutter, and missing his hands and feet because they had been chopped off with an axe. He was then being beheaded with the box cutter. While still alive. And yet....we don't have background checks on axes and box cutters. But here I saw horrifying evidence that, when abused, they can be utterly terrifying. We need to start holding PEOPLE accountable in this country, and stop blaming inanimate objects.

And serial numbers on guns. And there should be big baskets of loaded guns everywhere, so that no matter where you are, there would be a gun within arms reach. That way the bad guys would always be outnumbered. barfo
