Obama has officially pardoned Chelsea Manning. Let's see if Assange keeps his word that he will allow himself to be extradited to the United States. Fat Chance
How so? It was his Justice Department's over-aggressive stance on whistleblowers that put her there. I think he should pardon Snowden for what it's worth.
She commited espionage if not treason, she provided countless government documents to a foreign faction. She should not have been pardoned.
If the person wasn't a transgender this wouldn't have happened. It's politically motivated. And before you blast me for this, plenty of people on the news are saying the same thing right now. But for what it's worth I DO agree with you about it being over-aggressive for sentencing. Whistleblowers should not be charged at all.
But, it doesn't really help Obama to do this...it didn't help Bill to pardon Marc...im just trying to figure out why he is going to take Assanges word...dangerous ground
He didn't do it for the greater good or because he thought she deserved to get off. He did it to piss off conservatives. Basically freed someone who committed espionage out of spite.
I agree. I will echo your statement. Obama has done nothing for the greater good or because he thought a single person deserved anything. His actions are all politically motivated to further his parties agenda, or strike back against the people he dislikes, E.g. Republicans/Conservatives. However, my personal opinion, I think Whistlerblowers shouldn't have been charged in the first place. I like to keep Government and its agencies accountable. So Snowden, Manning, Assange I appreciate.
