I don't expect it to be flattering to Trump at all. It is PBS, after all. I do watch Frontline a lot, and they have been critical of democrats in the past.

So far they haven't even delved into Trump but rather the divide that Obama created and the rise of the Tea Party which, I'm guessing, will parlay into the rise of Trump. It's a 4 hour thing. I've only seen an hour and a half roughly. But for someone that voted for Obama twice and have always had a hard time understanding why some of you think he was so divisive, it's been illuminating. At least I can already better understand what you think you see. I couldn't even see it before. So far it's been really balanced and interesting.

My take is Obama wasn't much interested in working with republicans from the start, since he had/expected 60 votes in the Senate (don't need to debate that), control of the House, and the White House. That wasn't an act to unite the people. Even when republicans did regain congress, he went about doing things by Executive Order that are questionable constitutionally.

The rise of the tea party was just as much a response to republicans who let them down during the W years. With all 3 branches for 6 years, they spent like crazy and grew social programs beyond the rate of inflation.

I'll give you more feedback after watching it.

Excuse me. The republicans didn't want to work with him. As soon as he was elected they said they were going to block everything he tried do, before even knowing what exactly his plan was. They didn't even want to listen. Dont try to put that on Obama, Denny, that's a bunch of horse shit and you know it.

He had to do things by executive order. He was forced to by the republicans who wouldn't even try to be bipartisan. It was unconstirutional that they say on their asses twittling their thumbs and not doing shit for 8 years. They didn't do their job. They should have all been fired.

And instead of trying to convince a bunch of blind dogs to see, he presidented the shit out of it, and got what he could done.

Maybe if the republicans were willing to work bipartisan, the affordable health care act might not have been the shamble it was. Doubtful though, the republicans in Congress and the Senate could give a fuck about people in poverty. They are going to repeal it now, without a back up plan to make sure millions of people who can't afford health care will get it, once the repeal goes through because they don't care about the lower class.

I do gotta say though, if I were a Democratic President with a Republican Congress who refused to work with me, I'd bring cameras into the capitol, and I'm not talking cspan...I'm talking national tv and I'd call their asses out on it, and make them squirm, and it'd be on every channel. I'd bring the camera up to each of them, right to their faces, and question them. And ask them why they shouldn't be fired. Why they are to busy to work for the people of America that hired them, yet they are inclined to have meetings to raise their salaries....I'd stick it to them. I'd tear them a new asshole.

Maybe that's a bit much, but you can't let them walk over you like that, you can't.

Yes, that is how they frame it but they correlate it with the Sarah Palin "phenomenon" during the 2008 election and the subsequent shift in the Republican party. I'm just going to let you watch it and see what you think lol

    Dude....

Who had more interviews with talk show hosts, and who hung out more with Hollywood celebrities? Who did Hollywood endorse more?

    Trump.....or Obama and Clinton?

    Come on now.....

It's baffling to me that a Liberal doesn't understand the above. Seriously.

Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus, Cher, Maryl Streep, and the rest of their kind aren't Conservative Republicans.....

That's an outstanding idea. Can we do that to the Democrats in the Senate who have promised to block every single thing that Trump does?

The funny thing is, I'm not the one who made it personal. So I'm not allowed to fire back if someone makes it personal? Whatever you say.

The thing is, I'm not saying Obama's done a great job speaking for black people (maybe because he's being impartial and neutral, which you claimed he wasn't). I'm not claiming he's done a great job, I'm just saying he's not the cause for the division in the country.

I've seen systematic oppression when it comes to blanks being imprisoned longer, for less when it comes to drugs then whites. I don't know how you can tell me that's not true when I've seen it. There's still a good deal of racism in this country. I don't know how you can deny that. Sure, we're ahead of where we were 40 years ago, but that doesnt mean it's not there. I've seen the gay and transgendered get verbally abused (more than the command man), and be treated by others as if they're worse, or less than them because they're different. Once again, I don't know how you can deny what I've seen firsthand, and claim that the media just told them to feel oppressed. Does the media pander to the crowd that will always tune in when their covering racial issues? Yes. But that doesn't mean that there's not a real problem.

I can't connect with Trump. How many people get handed a million dollar loan when theyre young? Would he have been successful and ultimately became president if he hadn't been given that loan? I don't think so. That's the problem. He wouldn't have became president if it weren't for his father giving him a million dollar loan. I don't know how the average American can relate to that.

Trump wasn't called a racist until he said "The Mexicans coming here are rapists, etc.". He brought that upon himself, that wasn't some sort of liberal tactic.

Its just frustrating that you don't think Republicans say just as much messed up b shit as liberals do. Do you know how many racist, derogatory terms I've heard Republicans call Obama? Women who get early-term abortions are called "baby-killers" by a lot of republicans. It's a two way street.

The problem is, both sides think they're better than the other. That's the cause for political division. An example is your disposition, and your hate towards liberals, biasedly failing to recognize that those faults you claim liberals to have, republicans have as well.

Personally, I don't have any problem with republicans. I have a problem with those who deny racism exist, those who don't want marriage equality etc. I don't have an where if I claim "Republicans are fucking assholes, etc.". My grandparents are Republicans. I don't think they're assholes, I just don't agree with them.

Appreciate it. I try not to respond that way either but when it gets heated that tends to go out the window.

The thing that really bugged me was the "liberals are a bunch of fuckimg assholes.". Basically you called me an asshole, my mother an asshole, my sister an asshole... I'm sure you didn't mean it like that and were probably talking about liberal politicians, but that's how I took it.
However, I'm sorry I responded so headedly. My bad.

    This simply isn't true.

There was no compromise. Obama wanted $800B in emergency spending and a $800B increase in the budget, too. There was no negotiation on those. A few Republicans did vote for both. If not for a republican, ObamaCare wouldn't have passed.

Republicans passed at least a thousand Bills that Obama signed into law.

McConnell's famous "we want to make Obama a one term president" statement was 2 years after Obama took office, and only after it was clear there was no negotiation possible.

Go ahead and fact check what I wrote. It'll be a good experience for you.

You realize democrats have become quite antisemitic, right? Anti-Israel, for starters. The proposed attack on Sanders for being Jewish that was revealed in the WikiLeaks emails.

Do you find the whole Sarah Palin phenomenon to be misogynistic?

whoa.......that's a bit of an exaggeration...you can be pro Palestinian State and not be anti semitic or a democrat...I'm not against jewish folks but I believe that they are not helping the cause over there...if you want to see what a wall accomplishes...that's a good place to look at. This is a mess that needs cleaned up....now Trump wants to move the embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv....that's very, very pro Israel. Israel is surrounded by anti semites on all sides...still doesn't mean they should keep expanding into the Gaza and squeezing out the Palestinians or controlling the water in the region
