I remember Alex Len destroying Plums and Meyers earlier this season.

Yes, I know. Not saying much. But still.

A sadly common misconception. (The second part. And soon the first, as Russia will absorb Ukraine as soon as Donald can dismantle NATO.)

I'd take a chance on knight and hope he'd turn into a Jamal Crawford type guy off the bench. Hes still only just 25. Len is a worthwhile project as well, or at least more worthwhile than Leonard. I wonder what Phoenix would want? If we're taking on Knights contract I would want them to take on Leonard

Alex Len would immediately have the 4th highest PER on our team (unless Plumlee was traded, then he'd be third). He'd also immediately become our best rim protector, actually shoots decent from the FT line and he's only 23. But as you said Knight is expensive and Len will no doubt get an offer next year higher than what Meyers ended up getting.

Knights contract really isn't that bad, even as a bench player, as long as Stotts gets the best out of him.

Anyone that thinks the Blazers are willing to Trade C.J for Cousins are Crazy. The ONLY way the Blazers trade CJ is for a quality player that has high character (i.e not Cousins).

Criteria #1: CJ averages 23.4 PPG, So if he were to be traded, I assume Portland would most likely want someone in return that scores say 18+ PPG.

Criteria #2: The Blazers need defensive help on the Front line So I eliminated all point guards, shooting guards and small forwards from the list.

Criteria #3: Player must have a better defensive rating than Mason Plumlee

Criteria #4: Player must Average at least 1 block/game.

Criteria #5: Player is under 30 years old.

Only 4 players met those criteria and are listed below. If The Blazers can't get one of these players for CJ & possible fillers, then there is no point in trading him.

    Anthony Davis
    Joel Embiid
    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    Karl-Anthony Towns

Here is link for defensive rating data I used.

I agree. Knight's contract is ok for todays NBA. It's much better than Crabbe's for example and we are talking about a player that averages career 16 points and 4.5 assists. It's a strange situation with the Suns right now but the kid can play.

What would you think of Myles Turner? He meets all your criteria except 18+ppg (he's at 15.7), and that's primarily because he only plays 30 mpg. Aside from that, he's 6'11", has a drtg of 104, averages 2.4 blks/gm, and is just 20 years old.

Honestly, I don't think Indy would make that deal, but I could see some value in a CJ for Turner deal.

Also, Whiteside doesn't make your list either, because he's only at 17.4 ppg. Otherwise, he fits your criteria as well.

Doesn't Turner have an injury history? I thought it was the reason he dropped down to Indy in the draft. He's a sick player though. He's right next to Jokic as one of the best young bigs in the league.

Well Indy wouldn't do it so no reason to think about it. Really great player though.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/t...ooks-to-erase-questions-about-his-durability/

Looks like he had a lot of pre-draft questions about the way he ran, and he took steps to address and correct the problems.

Yeah Turner would be decent, and so would Whitehead, they were just below my threshold of 18 PPG, both are very Viable options.

    1. Criterion.
    2. Spoiler alert: they can't. The only POSSIBLE way they could would be if the "filler" was a #1 pick and Lillard.

Got to say: REALLY not a Knight fan. Not a good PG. Not a good SG. Every team he goes to gets worse when he plays. As soon as a team acquires him, they're looking to trade him.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I agree. I was going to say he reminds me of (a taller) Damon Stoudamire, but Stoudamire actually ran significantly higher Assist Rates. Knight doesn't score nearly well enough to be a scoring point guard.

Prepare for a healthy dose of blaspheme. Shooting percentages aren't all that different.
