There are far too many people in prisons that don't need to be in them any more...Obama addressed it..and according to what I read about it was very selective...might not agree with his choice but in reality...prisons are overcrowded as is. It's another way to drain a swamp.

I'm a believer in prison reform for non violent offenders who have proven to be rehabilitated...that's what it's supposed to do. If a couple thousand get a second chance to contribute, it's for the best...I think there are obvious exceptions...repeat offenders, etc...psychotics, etc...

Most of them were put in jail for meth, they all had very long sentences (20-30 years, two were in for life). They'd all served quite a bit of time already (at least 10 years).

Several of them were also charged as felon in possession of a firearm, so that part, at least, should make you happy.
