I remember some buddies and I downtown for a bachelor party. We were drunk and wanted to go to Key Largo so we got in a horse carriage thing. We're clopping along, head under the Burnside bridge and we all see this guy (pimp) slapping this woman. He had her pushed against the brick wall, smacking the hell out of her. Next thing I know I hear SNAP! and the horse and carriage shoot forward, the carriage hopping the curb. SNAP! The driver uses his whip and takes a chunk out of the back of the guy's shoulder. The guy spins around and the horse lowers head and pins the guy against the wall. He starts to scream that he has a gun and the carriage driver goes SNAP! and takes a chunk of brick out of the wall a fraction of an inch from the guy's ear. We were just sitting there dumbfounded. Finally we jumped down and checked on the woman while the carriage driver kept the guy pinned against the wall with the horse. Police eventually showed up. We tipped the hell out of the driver and walked the rest of the way. One of the most badass things I've ever seen.
He's only got at least one-man riot in his neighborhood, so I thought better of it. Plus, once I opened my bottle of wine I figured I'd riot sometime later, but not tonight. And I'll be doing the same tomorrow.
I disagree. Conservatives respect the rule of law and order. They don't riot. They organize peaceful protests in parks or street corners, and make progress legally through the courts and legislature. These clowns don't. You're right: they ARE hurting their cause. The cause of hate, since they obviously hate the president. And contrary to what you might think, Conservatives don't hate these idiots. They just look at them with scorn. Thank God I live in Vancouver. It's a world of a difference from Portland. We don't tolerate this crap here. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been married? My parents were married on New Years Eve. Just celebrated 36 years of marriage.
I couldn't quite get a definitive answer from the local 6 pm news when I got home from work in Beaverton, but Trimet may or may not have service when the protests start if they turn violent? WTF? Of course the protests are going to be violent so it looks like I could be stranded in Beaverton after I get off work at 4:30 pm today. SMDH. I live in Vancouver.
FWIW I got an email yesterday at work that said Trimet is stopping service at 3PM in downtown due to the threat of violence. So you're probably fucked. :\
Buncha pansies afraid of getting punched, stand up for what you believe in, conservatives should go down there and tell em off. Maybe do some punching back. Y'all won't tho.
Then I am going to have to try to convince my work of leaving early after all the sick days I had to use due to the snow and ice. Son of a bitch. Thank you for the information.
Hey @RipCityDSCPL I did get an update.... The building security now said that "they are getting 'conflicting' information about availability, and that both C-TRAN and TRIMET will continue to provide service in and out of downtown Friday afternoon, but there will likely be delays or disruptions to service as the events unfold today." Sorry, I JUST read this email after I replied to you.
