...really liked this show -- also setup nicely for a Season 2!

I watch all of my shows online. Right now, I've got a British thing going.

I'm a huge fan of the old "Top Gear" crew, so I'm eagerly watching each episode of their new show "The Grand Tour". So far, it's....okay. There's some things that, in my opinion, they need to change. Like the American....he needs to shut the fuck up when he drives. And Celebrity Brain Crash got old after the second episode, yet they keep doing it. Either find celebrities to interview, or cut that segment and do something else.

Then there's "Father Brown", which is a cheesy mystery show about a priest in England during the 1950s who is an amateur sleuth, and solves murders. I really like this show; it's light-hearted, but not so much so that it becomes boring.

Then there's "The Reassembler", with James May. Very calming and fun in its own way.

I'm eagerly awaiting the latest season of "Doc Martin" (which is another British show), but I've been waiting for about a year. Not sure when they're gonna start it back up. It's a VERY good series.

Beyond that, it's a lot of Anime (I'm currently watching "Yuri on ICE!"), and a bunch of documentaries, either on Nova or National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. All of these online as well.

What's weird is that the main psycho, who is scarily effective, plays a fucking VICAR in another, more traditional "cozy" British TV show.

It's an awesome show anyway, but I have extra fondness for it because it's filmed where my Gran and Grandpa used to live. My Gran was Principal of the elementary school in Hebden Bridge in the 70s.

Charlie Brooker is a genius. Check out some of his "Weekly Wipes" (or yearly, even). But oddly, the best episode of the pre-Netflix Black Mirror wasn't written by him - "The Entire History of You".

Looks interesting! I'll have to check it out. Thanks Rasta!

There's a few British Crime Dramas that I've liked over the years, but haven't followed closely. "Wallander" was really good, as was "Scott & Bailey". I've seen a few episodes of each show, but haven't actually sat down and watched the entire series.

    I keep thinking there's another crime drama....but I can't recall....:dunno:

EDIT: oooh! Sherlock! That's a REALLY good show!

Now, if you want comedy, might I suggest an old British sitcom called "My Family", which is about a dentist named Ben Harper and his weird family. It is utterly hilarious.

And Rasta, may I just say how nice it is to see you talking about something other than twitter posts about Trump. And I mean that warmly, without sarcasm.

Happy Valley is very British, we watched it with closed captions on because every once in a while there would be some shit said that I had no idea what they meant.

If we're talking detective shows, though, the best ones IN THE WORLD are coming out of Denmark. Watch all three seasons of the Danish version of The Killing - it is fucking awesome. Almost as good is the Danish/Swedish collaboration The Bridge. I mean, if you're watching with subtitles anyway...
(Lots of people like Borgen, a sort of less camp Danish version of House of Cards, but I honestly couldn't follow all the machinations.)

Also, this show has been off the air for sometime now, but if anyone here gets a chance to watch "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes/The Return of Sherlock Holmes/The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes/The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes", starring Jeremy Brett, you'll get the opportunity to see one of the greatest actors of all time play an absolutely stunning role which, in my opinion, is the best Sherlock Holmes character ever played.

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0107950/?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm

Jeremy Brett was a truly one-of-a-kind actor who gave absolutely stunning performances. He battled life-long manic depression and Bipolar disorder, which helped give his characters such remarkable psychology.

He died in 1995, and man.....I really wish he was still around. I would love to ask him his opinion on the current crop of "Sherlock Holmes" films and TV shows.

I saw an interview with someone, a famous actor, who was related to Brett, and he spoke about his role in Sherlock and how it shaped future versions of the show. But I cannot remember for the life of me who it was.....I keep thinking that it was Benedict Cumberbatch, but no google search turned up a relation. Hmmm.....

The American remakes of The Killing and The Bridge were also well done.
