Walton was not the Kevin Love of the Blazers. He was the Lebron.

That said, I voted for Dr. Jack.

He definitely coached that team up. He got the players to all buy in and got the most out of each for the benefit of the team. That team was definitely greater than the sum of its parts. If you just look at the talent on the two rosters, there is no way in hell the Blazers should have beaten the 76ers, but they did. Props to each and every one of the players, but massive respect for the brilliance of Dr. Jack Ramsay.

Which is why I think the 77 team deserves an Iwo Jima-style statue - they were the epitome of a "team", and they should be honored that way:

while funny i think it would be seen as kind of disrespectful to the veterans who died.

I was actually thinking of something along these lines but.......hard to equate an annual sports trophy with the ultimate sacrifice......

I don't think he meant EXACTLY like the Iwo Jima statue, but something that honors the whole team, since it really was a team effort.

Maybe something like this captured in bronze:

    It's a typo. Fucking autocorrect!

He meant rip shitty mornings. Which is what I do when I've had Mexican food before bed.
