I don't see a thread on this and it definitely deserves one. Last night, Dame became only the 10th player in NBA history to score at least 8,000 points and make at least 2,000 assists in his first five years. The others: Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Larry Bird, Tiny Archibald, Isiah Thomas, Dave Bing, Reggie Theus, and Pete Maravich. Pretty impressive company.

One of these things is not like the other...

Actually, Theus gets short shrift a lot of the time, but he had an excellent career. With over 19000 points and 6400 assists, only Robertson, Stockton, Payton, and Lebron have more of each.

I covered it in the game thread and quote book.

Well therein lies the problem. If you want someone to read it, have Darkwebs post it.

I thought that would probably be the case, but it seems to me it's worth its own thread. Only the 10th time it's been done in the history of the NBA? That's huge. Think of some of the names not on this list. Curry, Westbrook, Paul, or any other current point guard, including all of the guys named to the All-Star squad over Dame. In fact, no other current player except LeBron has done it. Historically, no Magic, Iverson, Kidd, Nash, Stockton and on and on.

This is frickin' thread-worthy. In the game notes? Sheesh!

This is a moronic statement. This is a very rare level he is in. Show some props.

Theus is underrated. Compare his numbers with hall-of-famer Joe Dumars. Theus beats him in most categories.

It's all good, HCP is too busy trying to take photos of his Starbucks drink, his laptop, and his sneakers all at the same time. He didn't notice the obvious sarcasm in my post.
