Sad thing. I wish we weren't there. Obama's 2011 raids killed the girl's father, a Yemeni-American cleric (radical), and her brother Abdulrahman 2 weeks later. What a mess Trump was left with. According to the government, 14 Al Qaeda militants were killed in the raid. Ryan was a San Diegan. It's all over the news here.
I'm not a fan of Trump.... but let's stop pretending like this is some kind of new thing. We have been killing innocent people for decades. Vietnam? War in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Nixon was sure he could actually end the war in Vietnam by winning it. He went after the win for about 4 years before surrendering in a sham peace talks. Declared victory and tucked tail and ran away. The South fell within days, if not hours.
Was he making such plans? If we didn't have military in Yemen fighting, there'd be no reason to kill Americans there.
Its an auspicious start for the first combat mission under Fearless Leaders' command. This reminds me of Jimmy Carters' FUBAR when he tried to free the hostages in Iran.
I'm just sayin, if we're going to talk about cold and heartless, I think flying in remote controlled airplanes and killing 117 civilians is pretty damn cold and heartless.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anwar_al-Awlaki I bet he was making more plans than his 8yr old daughter was.
