I have a pal in NY who is convinced that Carmelo is the worst 4th quarter shooter around. We want to know what his 4th quarter shooting percentage is compared to the other three quarters. Do any of you know how to figure that out, or where I could find those stats? Thanks!
NBA.com allows you to filter stats, including by quarter. I ran it and then sorted by FG%, in ascending order (worst to first). I had to load more results to find Carmelo Anthony, but it sounds like your buddy was pretty on the nose. Anthony is #371 of 445 in fourth quarter field goal percentage.
This will make your friend happy. I set the minimum FGA at 120 to get Anthony to the top. http://bkref.com/tiny/kFItM
jlprk - Does this mean that Carmelo is the worst 4th quarter shooter for players with at least 120 shots?
Yes. The parameters are, "In the 2016-17 season, in 4th quarter or Overtime, at least 120 FGA, sorted by FG% in ascending order." Usually it states the parameters at the top, but this time it doesn't. To see them or change them (e.g. maybe you don't want Overtime included, or maybe you want to see last season, or to include playoffs), click "Show/Hide Search Form." You will want to increase the minimum from 120 if you run it again later this season, or for past full seasons.
Yes, it's easy, but I had to write clearly to make it understandable to a lawyer. I should have used words like forthwith, herefore, and whereby. P.S. The evil legal system sucks.
The great players take more very difficult shots in the fourth quarter than other players. No one remembers the big shots Jordan missed. That said, what is little Isaiah Thomas' %?
