?

What is your interest level of the team?

  1. I still watch/listen to every game with complete fandom

  2. I will watch/listen to most games, get excited/hopeful

  3. I catch the games when I can

  4. I'm starting to do more things instead of sitting down to watch/listen

  5. It's gone. Talk to me next year.

I will always watch the Blazers when I can. But I will rarely pay to watch the Blazers. This is one of the least interesting teams I've watched...though the last several years there have been a lot of not-very-interesting iterations of the Blazers. Nate and Terry made/make it hard to get excited.

Less than any year for as long as I can remember. May just be me getting older though? Hate the new broadcast crew. Hate the fact the GM didn't know last year was a fluke and re-signed everyone. Hate the same old bullshit excuses from fans. Hate Dame saying we have to get better but never puts in the effort defensively to get better.

I love my Blazers, but if I'm being honest, I don't really care about them this year

Nate was boring. But I think some of Terry's problem is the players the organization chose to invest in and build their future on. Damian is a nice player but I don't think he is the flashiest or funnest player to watch. I feel that way about a lot of these guys. That and I agree with the Bodyman. The game is nothing what it used to be in the 80's. It's just not as fun and I have to say, I admire the Blazer fans for continually to buy and come close to selling the arena out night after night. Surprises me a lil but and it really makes it difficult for this owner and organization to do anything else. If what they are trying to do is drive off interest.

Let's just take a breath and not quit just yet. We still have a shot at playoffs and if we make playoffs, we have a shot at title. If we DO fall out of contention, then I'll take the step back. There's too much basketball to played. Look at Miami. They didn't give up on their season at 11-30 and now they're the hottest team in the league. I personally refuse to be a fair weather fan and desert the team when they need the fans most. I hope the fans at Moda feel better about the team than most of you. It ain't over.

Denny, sell website and retire. We now have the ultimate in stupid posts. Shot at a title? Multiple gunshots as in killing 4 players from the other teams? Oh my Lord.

We have a shot at a title? I guess every team that hasn't been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention has at least a .00000000000001 chance at a championship.

There's a difference between being a faorweather fan and doing other things instead of watching a game because this team is disappointing.

They openly admit other teams give more effort than them. So why should we give 100% effort to support them when they admit they don't give 100% effort?

It's not fair weather, it's called being realistic... historically, the probability of winning title from 7 or 8 seed is ZERO. I'm sorry you spent so much money traveling with the team, but the roster construction is flawed... we have 80+ mil committed to 4 guards... this team is going nowhere without some major trades. Lillard and CJ combo will never work... until Neil realizes that this team has no chance.

I said to not talk about fandom. Its the exact reason the poll results arent public.

I made it so each individual person could speak about it if they wanted to. Dont do any heirarchy fandom in this thread please.

My interest is at about a 6/10. Would be a 8/10 if we can make a positive trade and will be a 3/10 if we don't.

I haven't been emotionally invested in Blazer basketball sense Portland lost Batum/Matthews/Aldridge/Rolo.
I do still try to catch every game though.

Neil when he first came to the Blazers: "I'm only going to acquire players that move the needle"

And after all these years, all he's done is acquire backups and casts offs. Then he decides to play them a ridiculous amount of money and call it good? Where do we go from here? Nowhere!

I have supported the team for over 40 years. Through the good times, and the bad. That said....

Like many of you, I had VERY HIGH expectations for the team this year. Watching them play now is such a depressing, disappointment. I honestly feel that I would get more enjoyment watching a 5 on 5 pickup game of our random board members. I think it would be exciting, and a blast to watch or play in. Sure, there are a lot of old farts here, but I would totally expect everyone to put in SO much effort, that many would be on the verge of a heart attack. Am I wrong??? I find it really pathetic that our paid professionals can't put forth that effort, for each and every ENTIRE game. Rant over (although I could easily go on, and on.....)

So yes, my interest is fading quickly.....

Had no raised expectations, thought summer was wasted, proved me right, hoping they trade all summer pickups for 1 or 2 solid 3pt-line defenders. Throw Vonleh in the deal too.

Honestly I can't say I'm that emotionally invested in the Blazers. I'm proud to be a Blazer fan and I love the connection the club has to the local fans. Most NBA teams are just another mindless diversion but the Blazers are really the only game in town. Sadly, that really doesn't mean much in modern NBA. Big Market, Big Visibility, Big Superstars.... we don't really have the facility to sign or even retain a ton of premium talent. Maybe if we had San Antonio's setup.... but they still appeal to players because of their locale. We are lucky to have Allen. He believes in the club and town. Whether that translates into being a contender anytime soon..... (lifts arms) We are in the NBA because teams like Golden State need us on the schedule basically. I get as passionate about that as I can.

I still try to watch every game. although I work Wednesday and Friday evenings; but even there in the last two weeks I twice paid a client $10 to let me go home three hours early so I could watch. I hoped for most of the season so far that the team could get it together; now I don't think that will happen so I just hope that one or two players will go from being a role player into a solid consistent producer. I'm most disappointed in what seems to be a lack of fire sometimes. Also disappointed that Olshey can't do the small things. like hire a damn bigman coach, or that at this point the team (Olshey and Stotts) doesn't start focusing on the future instead of this season.

Don't get me wrong - our roster is definitely flawed. But this team could do quite a bit better if they were better coached. One of the things I hate the most is sticking with a coach once it's clear they aren't getting the job done - that, more than anything, keeps me from being invested in the team.

With that said, I want to under-achieve even more than we already have. At this point, every win is a step in the wrong direction. So, by all means, stick with Terry until the end of the season. But if he isn't fired this summer then it's going to be another wasted season next year.

Totally agree on the lack of talent throughout the NBA - it's pretty pathetic these days. Players have increased their athleticism and individual ability to be superior players to those who played in the 80s/90s, but the mental game just isn't there. And even some of that can be blamed on coaching - it's not the players' job to draft the plays, it's just their job to execute them...and our coach has them running the weave outside the 3-point line.
