I get that teammates for relationships but they are being payed to perform and win and when your team is 8 games under .500 barely 50 games into the season, apparently those relationships weren't doing much for winning games.

If the Blazers were somewhere near HCA, then I get it. They are currently 1 game in front of the Kings and the Mavericks. How about less worry about being bff's and a little more concern for winning games.

What SUCKS is that the fans seem to care more than the players and are stuck paying to watch this nonsense.

Better snap out of this Stunned paralysis crap with a quickness. IF they seriously cant see that some changes need to be made they players like Dame don't have as good of a grasp of this team as we have thought.

It sucks, And I don't expect anyone to come out and say... This was better for the team, other than management. But to be stunned.. come on now..

Doesn't seem to be any anger or anything, just regret at losing a teammate they liked and felt brought a lot to the team. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

NO didn't trade Plums, the players did. There is a salary cap. From a self-interest POV it only makes sense to get as much $$$ for yourself that you can. However, taking more for yourself NECESSARILY means some of your teammates will get traded, period.

If you don't like the BUSINESS, be happy living off $10 mil or so a year.

As much hustle as Mason brought....he was the go to guy in the clutch in too may losses...teams didn't even bother to guard him and loaded up on our shooters at the end of games

Dame has said the same thing for 5 years about teammates leaving...from Mo Williams to Dorell Wright to Will Barton or Tim Frazier or TRob...I see nothing wrong with him respecting Mason like he did

That was just the columnist's word, though. None of the players spoke about being stunned, nor did they sound stunned. They sounded like people who got news they weren't expecting and had to digest it and respond to it quickly.

Even if you know things aren't going well, Plumlee is not necessarily the guy you expect to be gone.

I think Dame and CJ were just showing disappointment that Mason was the guy that got traded and Meyers was showing relief that he wasn't that guy

Be careful what you ask for my friend. I was tempted to flood you with post after post of ML interviews about game tactics, etc.
But, I know you don't need any more fuel. :)

If Leonard had been traded, the responses would have been more like:

    "Olshey's amazing! Who'd we get?"

"Wait, he was still on the team? I thought he was just following us around, looking for autographs."

"Don't get me started on his Offensive and Defensive Rating."

I think part of the reason they're stunned is precisely because they DO care about winning. Plumlee was our third best player in terms of what he contributed. Make no mistake: if you're really serious about winning this season, you do not make this trade (particularly with the team you're fighting for 8th with). This sends a clear message that we're giving up on this season, and it's that along with their friendship with Plumlee that the players are feeling.
