No chance dude. It would take CJ and I might be tempted.

While Noah's contract is worse than Crabbe's, Crabbe's deal isn't good--it would be an exchange of a bad contract for a worse one. New York would Portland something for that, but a lottery pick in this draft is definitely way too much. The option for a pick swap might be plausible.

Agreed. I like last summer Neil did what HE FELT he had to do.
Now, he's doing what he wants to do.

I'd revise the last part of that sentence to read "it would be an exchange of an over-priced, market-rate contract for the worst contract in the league". Crabbe would be a starter, and Noah isn't even worth a 15th roster spot. Vastly different players and contracts we're talking about here.

I don't consider Crabbe to be starter-quality, so "bad contract for worse one" fits best to me.

I feel like everyone in this thread is focused on 1st round picks. 2nd round picks are much more likely to be thrown in with the types of players we're talking about in these trade rumors. 1) We could actually use 2nd rounders more than 1st rounders, considering how frequently Olshey has parted with them. 2) In a deep draft, you can't have too many non-guaranteed rookies to try out in summer league and pre-season.

    According to the Trade machine,
Crabbe + Leonard for Carmelo Anthony works :)

I've heard a couple of the same things. I disagree with their outlook of 10-15 is the same....and getting drilled by the Warriors accomplishes what? Don't get it. This team needs as many quality assets as it can get and the better they are, the better for the team.
Harkless has several teams interest from what I heard from one person and Aminu had at least 2. Crabbe has interest from as many as 5 teams from what I was told but what is being offered back is nothing the Blazers are interested in. Ed Davis has received a few inquiries as well.

A couple teams have even asked about CJ but that was met with a quick 'no' according to them.

    Gross.
Coincidentally Crabbe+Festus for Melo works too.
But.... the thought of Melo on this team makes me sick.

I think there is a big gap between what the Blazers say and what they believe. You have to say the above to keep the players motivated and working hard. I would be shocked if they really believe that though. Talk playoffs, believe in the tank.

But add a third party to that, like Cleveland, and you instantly feel better.

Cleveland can't trade a Draft pick for years as they owe Portland the 2017 pick and the 2019 pick to Atlanta. So the soonest one they could offer would be 2021....yuck, although that might be worth a lot as LeBron would be done by then.

NY just has their own 1st round pick and an extra 2nd (2 incoming, 1 outgoing).

Someone call me when this board comes up with a trade that works for both teams. I'll be in the back smoking a jay.

If that's not a testament to horrible contracts, I don't know what is.

Which is why I also mentioned swapping picks. They foolishly spent their money last summer surrounding Carmelo Anthony with other players over 30, delusionally thinking they could win now and challenge CLE in the East, when they should have been surrounding Porzingas with younger players. Crabbe is young enough he could be their starting SG next to Porzingas for the next 6 years - and he'd still be younger than Courtney Lee is now.

So, they could get a young starting SG and still have a potentially top 10 pick if they swap picks with us. It would be a 2-for-1 for them.

Crabbe, Meyers, and Cleveland's 1st for Melo

Blazers could be a quick contender (on paper) with a Melo trade. I know everyone hates him and I'll be roundly booed for this, but it would be fun as hell to play the Warriors with this lineup:

    Lillard---Napier
    CJ -------Turner--Pat
    Harkless-Layman
    Melo-----Aminu
    Nurkic---Davis

Melo wouldn't waive his no trade clause for Portland though.

I had mentioned Washington in a different thread, but Boston is a good destination for aminu as well. If they're matching up with Cleveland, they can use crowder and aminu for 48 minutes on LeBron. They can match up well when Cleveland goes small.
As for return... I dunno. Zizic and a pick?
