So a random fan asking Dwight Jaynes....Dwight Jaynes, via Twitter about Brook Lopez is share worthy?
I am hoping that we are trying to trade Crabbe for him plus a draft pick; both to be used later at draft time in another trade.
Keep hoping. No way AC has that high value. Getting a late pick and a salary dump on AC's contract is a dream as is. Okafor isn't a negative contract to ADD on to that.
Agreed, but I truely believe AC will have a fair amount of positive value this offseason with cap going up, and 1 year less on his contract, and no-trade clause going away.
Agreed. Only team I can see him going to at the deadline is PHI but this summer I could see as many as 5-6 teams with interest.
The cap is barely going up and Zach Lowe and other writers have been suggesting that teams actually over-leveraged, increasing salary too fast in the cap spike last year and are now going to struggle to give extensions to their players reaching free agency. The era of drunk spending is likely over and current bad contracts aren't likely to be recontextualized into being decent.
Portland Trail Blazers Rival teams will keep calling about C.J. McCollum and Allen Crabbe’s availability after the Blazers already swapped Mason Plumlee for Jusuf Nurkic to avoid their impending cap crunch. Teams will, and should, inquire about Damian Lillard as well, although they’ll likely be rebuffed, league sources say. Portland will certainly explore options to cut costs and avoid becoming a tax team next season. http://www.si.com/nba/2017/02/21/nba-trade-deadline-preview-rumors-reports-primer-teams Weird, I thought his contract was an albatross!
It doesn't say, or imply, what is being offered. They could simply be calling to take Crabbe off our hands, in exchange for a first rounder, for example.
I wonder, if that same writer had called Crabbe's contract toxic around the league, with similar lack of sources, whether your mind would have been changed about Crabbe's value.
The majority here better hope Crabbe and his albatross contract gets stuck in Portland because if he gets traded, for value, I will not let it go.
