Woj: (lots of questions about Detroit) As for DET, there are one or two scenarios where they might trade Reggie Jackson but he hasn't had a great year so they may not get great value. That DET wants to unload Jackson after being signed for such big money...what does that say? Losing training camp hurt him.

Marks: Sometimes when you were good one year and not good the next, expectations can be tough. RFA don't trade teams that often. Caldwell-Pope has been asked about as well but tough to trade him for value.

(thought they might address the Drummond/CJ rumor but not a word)

Man.....Drummond for CJ. We all know this team desparately needs defense. And Drummond is one of the premier defenders in the league.

How would we end up with a fourth first? Davis isn't worth that much. Maybe Aminu?

    I wouldn't mind a first for Crabbe

My problem is when people think he's only worth a salary dump.

The forum in Detroit was trashing Drummond for being a whiner and not progressing enough.

I feel like if he was here he would be just fine.

Well I am not one of those, I would want to get value obviously, would never just try to dump him based off his contract. That contract will look good next season

There will not be another center as good as Drummond available for trade during Lillards current contract... big mistake if Blazers pass on this CJ for Drummond deal... Lillard-CJ backcourt will never work... everyone knows this. Hope Neil comes to his senses before noon tomorrow and brings Drummond to Portland... and we would still have Crabbe/Turner at SG

So you want Portland to just become Detroit?
CJ for Drummond is a horrible trade if you're Portland.
If this year has shown anything, you can't play 1 on 5 in the NBA and hope to be even .500

I agree. Eventually either Lillard or CJ has to go.

Who would he make the team over?

Looking at the guards this year in the east, i thought dame would have been really close there too.

Thomas, lowry, wall, kemba, kyrie, derozan they all deserved to be there.

With CJ's poison pill contract until summer I don't see a deal that works with DET without a 3rd team involved. It isn't impossible but it would take a crazy cap maneuver. Like 1% chance and that is if they even reconsidered moving him at all.

We need a Big 3 and trading CJ for Drummond still leaves us with 2 pieces. We can wait until Detroit is more desperate and then try to pry him away for other assets.

I don't see the Blazers trading CJ or Dame at all so that narrative is pretty much beating a dead horse to me...they want to build around these guys now would be my guess. As it is we have two great players locked up for the next run at the west. We need addition by addition to get there

I don't even care who we get, I just hope Neil balances this roster out a bit tomorrow. Nurkic was a great move, but the imbalance is still there.
