Good luck. We need a published author around here to go with our actor and musicians. Gotta promote the arts.

But, but, but.... There's no room for the arts, at least given the current trends with our "education" system.

Good Luck and my condolences for your family loss. Losing two close members is difficult to absorb.

Thank you. I lost my brother long ago when I was 5 years old. My dad last year. One of the reasons I wanted to write this book was my difference of perception between both of their deaths, being a kid, being a man, one an old scar, one fresh. It is really about the different lenses we use to perceive death. I have seen quite a bit, having lost all of my grandparents, many aunt, uncles, and cousins as well as great grandparents, ants, etc. The first death I saw was when I was four, a year before my brother. A neighbor was over and he had a heart attack, crashed through our coffee table and died. I was sitting on the floor across the room playing with my thunder cat action figures.

    Just for you @SlyPokerDog

Dogs Playing Poker – By C.A. Craig

    In exquisite lampshade

    Shadows illuminated at

    peculiar angle

    Green felt buoyant

    with a dense fog

    of cigar smoke accumulated

    Partially obscuring

    poker visages

    Schnauzer’s countenance is

    fearless and alert

    Yet, his spiritedness betrays him

    A two pair at most

Probably ducks and the two jakes to boot

    Collie though intelligent

is too active with his paws

    protective of his cards

Sitting on nothing but a bust

Even Steven’s headed towards the door

    St. Bernard is calm

    Watchful to the T

    Almost vacant in the eyes

Yet, a lively sparkle lies in the corner there

Three wise men waiting with their gifts

    Bulldog is gregarious

    Docile in his way

    But, his drool always

    impugns him

    A bike or broadway

    doesn’t matter

Basset Hound is too damn quiet

    His face his always drooping

    introspective in his lethargic air

    All blue, perhaps a boat

    Not material anyway

    SlyPokerDog so cunning

    in his spectacle

Grins in inference of his victory

    Goes all in

Lays down his Four Aces to steal the show

One by one they throw in their cards

    Schnauzer yips and snarls

    Collie shakes his head

    St. Bernard knows better

    Bulldog lets the bike go

    Then comes Basset Hound

Thinking for a moment, but just in raw façade

    He calls

Shows his steel wheel of puppy feet

and with his jowl still drooping

    takes the pot in whole

you won't need a tombstone...just a taxidermist and you'll be stuffed and on the desk for Courtside episodes on Blazers.com.....

That is really deep... My wife lost her brother then her mother in the same week. That was unimaginable.
