That's a great idea. The video and audio that stadiums play is usually pretty lame anyway. If I were in charge, I'd maybe play some stuff, like highlights, during breaks in the game and otherwise leave it silent other than the sounds the players and crowd make.
I don't know about this. I'm imagining a tense free throw situation and The HCP breaking wind like a Clydesdale.
The fans should be the entertainment soundtrack! otherwise it'd be a lot of squeeking shoes and dribbling with swearing and and whistles
Well, in the old days there wasn't a constant barrage of videos, music and entertainment. And I'm fairly certain we fans knew when to cheer or boo, or get behind the team.
For years my wife and I never missed a Friday night home game for the local High School where our son played...the crowd was always in it and loud ...what is weird is to watch a D league game where all you here is squeeking shoes and the refs whistle echoes....nobody goes to those games...
I used to be so proud that our team didn't have a lame mascot, or a lame sponsor for the arena.........
The Moda Center tends to keep the music to a minimum in the first half compared to about every other arena in the NBA haha
Fucking hipsters. "Oh, I'm a basketball purist, I can do without all the special effects and sounds while I'm at the game, you know like how the game was meant to be played. I also like my coffee beans ground by hand and brewed using a slow pour over method over 20 minutes".
On a similar note I have another idea. Prolly not much support for this, but I say do away with the dancers. 1. They're not that great. 2. It's awkward when they're gyrating in tiny ass shorts and kids are ogling. 3. It's doubly awkward when middle aged creepers are ogling.
