This. It's totally unnecessary. Hurd has played bball. Calabro hasn't. I'd much rather they emphasize that knowledge, than quibbling over who the The Weekend is, etc.

I tuned out the Mike's in favor of Wheels even though the radio broadcast has some lag...Wheels is my voice for the Blazers and has been for a long, long time...I hear Calabro and Hurd on replays, highlights, etc....I think it's been a really confusing season to build a backstory with but once we have a 9 man rotation that is set...they have to work around the experimental rotations and development of new guys...Mike and Mike knew more about Wes, Nico, La, Rolo and Dame....they had a history of backstory to rely upon when things were slow....if guys are complaining that Calabro made some mistakes with names...at least he pronounced them correctly...Mike Rice after decades didn't bother to try half the time.

Please, bring back Mike and Mike. Even the years that the Blazers flat out sucked balls, Mike and Mike made it fun to watch. They made the fans understand the game better, understand where the team was going and brought hope as well as knowledge.

    Garbage.

For a more substantial answer, they don't feel like hometown announcers. Some may like that better, but I don't. The Mike's felt like friends that were lucky and giddy about calling the games. Calabro and Hurd make it seem like a job. The Mike's were fans of tge team and the players...or seemed that way. Calabro and Hurd seem like they give zero fucks.

    Awful hire, IMO

I think that is a missing ingredient. Give them time. It takes time to let the infection fester & grow.

I liked the new voices and perspective in the beginning, but found I started missing Mike and Mike as the season went further into the schedule. Kind of like having a great pickup and deciding it was time to trade in on a new one with all the bells and whistles only to realize after the new wore off you really wish you had your old and really great pickup back.

Real tough. I hear fakeness in their voice, but man they are trying to stay positive, or put off a positive vibe amidst a season that has gone the opposite of what was expected. Our record should be reversed.
I am sure they too feel like they got punched in the gut.

Hurd's got better as the season goes on.
Calaboro is still the same, seems pretty average.. Not sure what the hype was pre-season.

My biggest issue with either of them is Hurd calling for a replay from @HCP and missing live game action.
All because Hurd wants to talk about what "CJ or Lillard" just did.
Frankly everyone I know has tvo, if they want to watch it again rewind themselves. Don't make me miss game action to watch something I just saw.
And yes, bringing the ball up the court, free throws and in bounds plays are game action. Far too often this season have I missed game action because Hurd wants to "educate people", or look again on how "mean" CJ/Lillard just were.
Fuck off Hurd, most Portland fan's are educated on basketball, it's the only professional sport Portland has had for a long time.

I dislike them both. They are not Portland. Calabro is Seattle. And seattle can eat a bag of dicks. Hurd just plain out stinks. He is king captain obvious.

I have watched maybe 2 games this year on tv because I can not stand them.

Just makes my decision to finally leave comcast that much easier though.

M&M were better and more fun. They were my home away from home. These guys are OK, but I would just as well pick up the other team's announcers - they bring nothing special to the table.

I have to agree with the live action part. For a while the keys to the game were done prior to tip off, but it has crept back into game time action. If it can't happen by tip off, then sacrifice a 15 second commercial slot, but please don't take away the viewing of free throws, and as of late, some of the dribbling up court after the second free throw.

Other than that, I am happy with them. I feel like they would come across as much more genuine if they genuinely had something to be excited about, and then more people would be pleased.

Their broadcasts are kind of like the equivalent of Casey Kaseem giving you the weekly top forty, except with more product plugs.

They're OK most of the time.

Not sure if it's the product that they're peddling or being new, but it does feel like they are trying awfully hard to manufacture excitement at times.

I miss Wild Rice a little bit though.

More like Calaboredo and Turd. I miss Mike and Mike. They made games fun to watch. They were organized and worked well together. They stood up for their team against bad calls.

I don't even listen to C&H when I watch games. I've tuned them out. They seem to be commentators for the opponent half the time. Why the hell do they do the keys to game halfway through the 1st quarter and why the hell do they do keys for the opponent?

I don't like Hurd at all. The Blazers should replace him with an ex player or someone more tied to the team, and maybe they'd be worth listening too. I liked Calabro back in the day, I think Hurd is the wrong guy to be teamed with him. They don't complement each other at all.
